OBITUARY
AUDRA PEARL RICKEY WAYNE

Audra P. Rickey Wayne of Willow Lane, Wheeling, a noted Wheeling historian, died Thursday, May 27, 1999, in Reston, Va. She was 71. She was born January 26, 1928, in Pennboro, W.Va., the daughter of the late Howard and Margaret Jameson Rickey.
She was considered the leading city genealogist and former president of the Wheeling Area Genealogical Society. She compiled and indexed more than 62 books at the Ohio County Public Library, where she was a volunteer in the Wheeling Room; an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, serving as registrar and as the organizer of the DAR program at the Madonna of the Trail for the yearly National Road celebration. She was organizer of the Greenwood Cemetery tour and the Oglebay Owners Tour, and was a researcher of the original land grant maps of Ohio County. She was a member of the Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Curtis N. Wayne; a daughter, Barbara E. Wayne of Sterling, Va.; two sisters, Juanita Delancey of Parkersburg, W.Va., Luella Morgan of Point Pleasant, W.Va., a grandson, William Thomas Wayne Justice of Sterling.
Friends received noon-3 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 154 Kruger St., Elm Grove, Wheeling. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bethlehem United Presbyterian Church, 45 Chapel Road, Wheeling, with Rev. Homer D. Harden officiating. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Sunset Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va.
