Visit the River Museum in Point Pleasant for an
exhibit of the Silver Bridge Disaster which includes a video,
a model and artifacts from the original Silver Bridge. Also, you
can take a trip in a working model of an old steamboat pilot house,
view a display about the Marietta Manufacturing Company which
built stern wheelers, tow boats and barges. They also built ocean
going vessels such as mine planters and new tenders for World
War II. The last ocean going vessel was launched from there in
1961. You can also do research on river history and lore in their
second floor library.
Model of the Silver Bridge with location of the vehicles
at the time of the collapse.
