Searching for parents of Lucy Pauley b 1828 VA (WV), m Joseph Lawson b 1828 TN, living in Lincoln Co. 1880. Joseph died 1895; when and where did Lucy die? Need her parents' names to clear up confusion.

Benjamine is said to have married Mrs.Stratton in Logan County History. The same history says he married her daughter. Martha died c 1820 and Benjamine next married Elizabeth Hinchman (d/o Wm. Hinchman & Mary Ann Perry). His children, possibly by Martha, are: Eliza (m. J.C. Dingess), Wm. Crawley (m. Mary Ann Butcher) and Rebecca (m AlexanderPine). Looking for more information on his Stratton wife was it Martha? If so, what was her birth name? *Any* info appreciated.

Dianah Elkins had about 6 children, she never married and some suspect her step father was the father of some/all of her children, His name was William McNeely and she lived with him and Rachel his wife and all the children, hers, and theirs in the 1850 census.Her children Arthur, Sarah Jane, Levicy, Druziaal, Matilda, and Harrison.

Phillip Carter II
I'd like to find the family of my father, Phillip Carter II, born to Frances Clark Carter and Phillip Carter January 14, 1934 in Logan County West Virginia. Cousins named Ruby and Crystal. His maternal grandfather, Robert E. Lee Clark. His grandmother's was perhaps Miranda Ferguson ( both from Kentucky?) This is all I know. My father died January 18, 1994 in Green Valley, Arizona. His wife is Hortencia Cano Carter and he has three children: Phillip Carter III, Melissa Ann Carter, and Dave R. Carter. He has five grandchildren! Jason, Sarah, Alexandria, Justin, and Andrew Carter. We would really like to find our cousins in West Virgina.

Zan Cremeans (b. circa 1843). Zan married Sarah Margaret Stephens,daughter of David Stephens. Does anyone have any info on David Stephens or his wife? Zan's father was Preston Cremeans & his mother Anna Eliza Angel. Any info on either of these people? Preston was born circa 1815. Zan had a son, Eli Washington Cremeans (b. 3/8/1875; d. 11/4/75) who married a woman named Anthela Sansom Anthelia/Anthely and Sansom or Sampson). She was born around 1884. I cannot find any parents listed for her. I understand she died about 1973 in Logan Co under the name of Stollings or Stallings (2nd husband). Any help on these matters would be greatly appreciated. I would consider paying for someone's time if they were expert & efficient in tracking down Lincoln Co data.

Henry Timothy WALLACE and Mary Polly CLINE were listed at Ma-23 in the 1880 Logan Census. They moved to Rowan Co KY abt 1881. Her parents were William CLINE and Catherine STANDLEY. Mary had prev married Mastin CHRISTIAN Jan 17 1867. Mastin & Mary had 2 children, Louisa who died young and William who stayed in WV when they moved to KY. Henry T Wallas is listed in 1860 McDOWELL Co (Household #240 next to Mathias HARMAN) with Nancy ??. Henry enlisted with Confederate Army at Logan Courthouse under Cpt. Herrington in Apr 1861 and was discharged near King's Salt Works VA at close of war. His Confederate Pension Application had letters from Hiram CHRISTIAN and John BEAVERS for proof of enlist. I need info on parents and siblings of Henry Timothy Wallace. I would also like to know more of the family of William CHRISTIAN. My grandmother remembers a visit from her Uncle William in the 20's.

Married Charlotte Witt in Calhoun Co. 11/21/1867. several of my kin are listed as being from Tazwell Co.Va. is this now Logan co.? Also looking any info on STARCHER,HUMPHREY(UMPHREY)who married LOVINA LITTLE>1869. I found them in the 1880 Calhoun County census but nothing before that. He is buried in Cohen Cemetry and she is buried in Baughman Cemetry could be a sign that they parted ways after 1882(last child born).

MURPHY
I need help sorting out my Murphy family. I know Herndon Murphy was born in Logan county ca 1799. His father was John Murphy. I find many Murphy's listed in the 1850 census and think they are his brothers. Can anyone help me that has knowledge of the Murphy family? Also Herndon died in Tazewell County in 1854 but I cannot find him in Tazewell County or Logan Co.1850 census. Is there a reason someone might not be listed other than they did not live there?

Looking for references to John BURGESS, born either 1853 or 1857, in Logan, WV, died 26 Feb 1930, in Stollings, WV, married Sarah WHITE, born 1858 in WV. One of their daughters, Polly Ann BURGESS, born 5 Dec 1888 in Logan, WV is my grandmother. I have no parentage for John BURGESS mother than his mother's name of Sarah ROBINETTE; and no information at all on Sarah WHITE's parentage. Anyone have any ties? For many years I have been researching my HARRIS family of Logan Co. WV. My great grandmother Rebecca HARRIS married Elisha BISHOP in 1867 in McDowell Co. WV. Rebecca's parents were James and Mary HARRIS who appear in 1850 Logan Co.VA Census. James HARRIS along
with Simeon, Joseph, Barnes HARRIS appear in the 1840 Census of
Logan Co. VA Census. James and Mary HARRIS were believed to have
been Native American and also had 2 more daughters, Cloe and
Elizabeth who I assume married in Logan Co.WV before 1870. Has
ANYONE ever heard of this family? It is believed they came from
