699. Donald Gene Starkey
Capt. Donald G. Starkey, overseas combat veteran, has recently reported at
Ellington Field, Texas, of the AAF Training Command where he will take the
graduate refresher course in latest navigational aids and techniques.Capt. Starkey served in the Pacific theater participating in heavy bombardment
raids on vital and strategic taretts in Jap held territory. He wears the Air
Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Asiatic-Pacific ribbon with four bronze
battle stars, the American Defense and American theater ribbons.Prior to entering the service, the captain was a student instructor at West
Liberty State College and later at Fairmont State Teachers College, both in WV.
He is a member of Zeta Sigma fraternity and of the Ohio State Teacher's
Association.
