Authur Ice, 71, of Wallace, W.V. died Thursday, January 20 (1972) at St. Marys Hospital, Clarksburg. He was born in Wetzel County, February 17, 1900, the son of the late A.B and Emma Shaffer Ice. He was a member of the Church of Christ. His wife, Florence M. Ice died in 1966. Surviving are 2 sons, Lory W. of East Liverpool, OH and Roy W. of Warsaw, Oh; 4 brothers, Glenn of Chester; Lester of Salem; Steve of Piney; and Willis of Metz. 2 sisters, Mrs. Fanny Barker of Clarksburg and Mrs. Cora Gump of Haywood; ten grandchildren and seven great grand children. He was also preceded in death by two daughters. Friends were received at the Palmer Funeral Home, Pine Grove, where services were held Saturday at 2 pm. Interment in Ice Cemetery, Smithfield.

Lester Miller was named Jonas, rather than James at birth, but subsequent bureaucratic mistakes resulted in the name change. On May 29, 1944 Lester and Bertha bought the old store building in Cambria, Harrison County, WV from George A. and Zelma L. Morris for the staggering sum of $700; they remained in this converted dwelling for the rest of their lives.
