Ida Lambert
Ida Belle Showalter Lambert, 86, of Parsons, and more recently a resident of the Cortland Acres Nursing Home, Thomas, died May 4, at the nursing home. She had been in declining health for the past sixteen months after suffering a massive stroke.
She was born March 23, 1919, at Gladwin, a daughter of the late John M. Showalter and Susan O. Long Showalter. On Oct. 2, 1942, she was married to Otto W. Lambert, who preceded her in death March 4, 1998. They had celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Lettie B. Showalter and several nieces and nephews.
She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by three brothers, Edmond, William and Charlie Showalter; and two sisters, Mary Brown and Carrie Moyers.
She attended the schools of Tucker County. She was formerly employed for the Scott Paper Company in Philadelphia, Pa. She was a member of the First Baptist Church at Parsons.
Friends were received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on May 5. Funeral services were conducted at the funeral home parlor on May 6 with Pastor Allen D. Crosten officiating.
