Priscilla Gaines
Priscilla Dawn Reed Gaines, 29, of Madison Avenue, Weston, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at her home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1974, in Buckhannon, a daughter of Gary and Ruby Humphrey Reed.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one daughter, Amber Dawn Gaines of Weston, and one son, Brandon Michael Gaines of Weston.
Also surviving are one sister, Kimberly Runyon of French Creek, and maternal grandmother, Mary Cogar of Selbyville.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Felix and Fanny Reed and Marvelene and Henry Lewis.
Friends will be received Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Heavner officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Dale Cemetery at Selbyville.

Tristan N. Gaither
Tristan N. Gaither, infant son of Trisha Gaither of Mill Creek, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at the Women and Children’s Hospital in Charleston.
He was born Nov. 26, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
Also surviving is one brother, Caden Gaither of Huttonsville; his maternal grandmother, Grace Holmes of Mill Creek; and his maternal grandfather, Robert Holmes and stepgrandmother, Shirley, of Wynne, Ark.
One sister, Ashleigh Gaither, preceded him in death.
At the request of the family, his remains were cremated. Private services will be held at a later date. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Tristan Nathaniel Gaither.  From 5 Dec 2003.

Ben Taylor Galford
Ben Taylor Galford, 78, of Dunmore, died Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital. Death was attributed to a heart attack.
Ben was a farmer, a Navy veteran and a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church at Dunmore, where he contributed many hours of his time to the upkeep of the church and cemetery.
He was born at Dunmore on Sept. 16, 1925, the son of the late Wade C. and Georgia Taylor Galford.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Thomas G. Galford, and a sister, Beulah Meiss, preceded him in death.
His sisters, Beatrice V. Matheny of Green Bank, Marie Lowry of Monterey, Va., Gertrude Carpenter of Prairie Village, Kan., Dollie Simmons of Woodbridge, Va., and several nieces and nephews, survive him.
The Rev. Tom Hill will hold graveside services Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Dunmore.
Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at VanReenen Funeral Home in Marlinton.

Cornelia Bergdoll Garrett, 95, of Petersburg and a former resident of San Bernadino, Calif., died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at the Hampshire Center in Romney where she resided since May 23, 2002.

Macel “Mitzie” Gear
Macel Pearl “Mitzie” Greene Gear joined her Heavenly Father in a land of comfort and peace on Wednesday, May 7, 2003.
Born in Pickens on June 22, 1918, she was the daughter of Hubert C. Greene and Mary Martha Cogar Greene of Webster County.
Mitzie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Elkins. She was a member of the Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Chi Omega Sorority, Beverly Historical Society and Randolph County Retired Teachers Association.
Mitzie is remembered for her faith in God, her generosity of spirit and her loving, compassionate kindness. She always offered a warm hug, a listening ear and positive motivation to everyone who knew her.
She began teaching school in a one-room schoolhouse in Webster County in 1938. For more than 40 years she taught multiple generations of families in West Virginia. Her keen interest and concern for each of her students is remembered many years later by those who benefited from her strength and encouragement. Her dedication to the teaching profession continued after her retirement as a volunteer teacher in the Randolph County school system.
She is survived by her loving husband, Howard Hall Gear of Elkins; her son, John K. “Donnie” Mann of Annapolis, Md.; her daughter, Janice M. Mann of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; her daughters-in-law, Gale Mann of Annapolis, Md., and Brenda L. Greene of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; son-in-law, Charles Carrington-Smith of British Columbia; her stepchildren, Margaret Ann Winans of Elkins, Jim and Janet Wolfe of Pontiac, Ill., and Art and Vickie Kelley of Winston-Salem, N.C.; her grandchildren, Robert and Mary Margaret “Meg” Schramm of Houston, Texas, David N. Laura Gear-Snyder
Laura Jane Gear-Snyder, 82, a patient of Nella’s Nursing Home Inc., passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital.
Born Sept. 18, 1920, in Mill Creek, she was the daughter of the late Worley and Della McCauley Gear.

Leora T. Georges
Leora Thompson Georges, 90, a resident of Harrisonburg, Va., departed this life on Tuesday, April 22, 2003, in Rockingham Memorial Hospital. She had been in declining health for the past several months.
The daughter of the late Dillon and Anne Huffman Thompson, she was born on Oct. 6, 1912, in Sully and lived her early life in Franklin and Morgantown.
Mrs. Georges lived in Harrisonburg from 1953 until 1962, when she moved to Roanoke where she made her home until 1971, then returned to Harrisonburg.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
On Dec. 11, 1943, she married William J. Georges, who preceded her in death on Nov. 15, 1955.
She is survived by a stepson, William Georges Jr., of Harrington Park, N.J.; one stepgrandson and one stepgranddaughter; five half sisters, Grace Lugo of Houston, Texas, Ruth Waybright of Buckhannon, Ruby Cooper of Millersport, Ohio, Betty Woodford of Elkins, and Bessie Meier of Sunbury, Ohio; and three half brothers, Hugh Thompson and Bruce Thompson, both of Bowden, and Franklin Thompson of Mechanicsville, Md.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Alethia McAvoy and Mabel Lambert; two brothers, Blake and Bland Thompson; and two half brothers, Lester and Seymour Thompson.
Graveside services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Woodbine Cemetery with Dr. John F. Sloop officiating.

Goldie Marie Riggleman Getz, 76, of Carpendale, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at Allegany County Nursing Home in Cumberland, Md.

Viola Giambrone
Viola Virginia Slayton Giambrone, 90, a resident of 314 Reed St., departed this life Friday evening, July 18, 2003, at the Davis Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health.
She was born Jan. 18, 1913, at Mill Creek, a daughter of the late Cline Elias Slayton and Lillian May Hogue Slayton Luzier.
In Elkins, on June 1, 1929, she was married to Louis Giambrone, who preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 1992. They had celebrated 62 years of marriage.
Surviving are five daughters, Carmelina Mae Duckworth of Martinsburg, Lillian Jean Agnew of Elkins, Anita Louise Bowers of Colonial Heights, Va., Andrea Leah Antolini and husband, Carl, of Elkins and Cynthia Lynn Coontz and husband, Warren, of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Donald Slayton of Wilmington, Del.; two sisters, Louise Angelo of Martinsburg and Doris Mae McCarley of Pasco, Wa.; a stepsister, Willa Mae Sherbert of Camp Springs, Md.; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers, James Ronald, Cecil K. and Clarence R. Slayton; and two sons-in-law, Bernard Duckworth and William G. Bowers.
She attended the schools of Randolph County. During World War II, she worked as a blind riveter for the Glen L. Martin Co. in Baltimore. She loved cooking and she was well known as the cook and cake decorator for Lillian’s Flour Box.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church.
The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home on Sunday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Sunday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home, a prayer service was recited by the Rev. Father William Anderson. Judy A. Gibson
Judy Ann Gibson, 60, of Taneytown, Md., died Sunday, June 22, 2003, at her home.
She was the wife of Arnold L. Gibson, her husband of 45 years.
She was born July 3, 1942, in Middle Fork, a daughter of the late Maynard Donaldson and Sue Fincham Donaldson.
Mrs. Gibson had been a factory worker, horse trainer and had worked in several convenience stores, retiring from a Wawa store in Harford County, Md., in 2000. She was a member of Taneytown Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband are one stepdaughter, Linda K. Adams of Huntington and Linda’s mother, Maxine Goldizen; two grandchildren, Angel Hussain and Paul Adams; three great-grandchildren, Zahra Hussain, Levi Adams and Jonah Adams; two brothers, her twin, Roger Donaldson of Baltimore, Md., and Dick Donaldson of Taneytown, Md.; and one sister, Patty Rice of Vermillion, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at Taneytown Baptist Church, 4150 Sells Mill Road, Taneytown, Md. Her paster, the Rev. Gary Buchman, will officiate. Michael Emmit Gibson, 16, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003, in Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
He was born Oct. 22, 1986, at Weston, a son of Robert Eugene Gibson and Mildred Garrison Swiger, who survive in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are his stepmother, Vonda Thomas, Buckhannon; and stepfather, David Swiger, Buckhannon; four brothers, Robert A. Gibson, Ricky Gibson, Trey Gibson and Jeremy Swiger, all of Buckhannon; one sister, Shawna Gibson, Buckhannon; maternal grandmother, Wanda Curtis, Buckhannon; maternal grandfather, Doy Ocheltree, Buckhannon; paternal grandmother, Wilma and husband, Howard Riddle, Roanoke; paternal grandfather, Robert Gibson, Weston; several aunts, uncles and cousins; two stepbrothers, Ronnie Thomas, Buckhannon, and Bobby Swiger, Weston; two stepsisters, Lisa Workman, Parkersburg, and Kristy Van Kirk, Weston; and stepgrandmother, Debbie Snyder, Weston.

Madaline B. Gillespie 
Madaline Burke Gillespie, 96, of White Sulphur Spirngs, passed away quietly Thursday morning, Oct. 2, 2003, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea.
Born Feb. 8, 1906, in Sand Fork, she was the oldest of four daughters of the late Edna Burke Simms and Richard Ford.
also preceding her in death were three sisters, Eva Rhodes, VIrginia Burke Ford and Enzie Simms; two brothers-in-law, Morgan Singleton and Wilford Gillespie; and two sisters-in-law, Mary Blake and Emma Singleton. 
Mrs. Gillespie taught public school for 42 years.  She started out teaching in a one-room schoolhouse on Lynch Run in Gilmer county. She received her bachelor of arts degree in teaching from what is now Glenville State College in 1935.  She taught first-grade at White Sulphur Springs Elementary School for 32 years where she even had her own grandchildren in her classroom.   
She was a member of the Ladies Circle at Emmanuel United Methodist Church where she was a member.  She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma teachers' society and the West Virginia Retired Teachers Association. 
She also taught Sunday School, and tutored privately many a young student in reading, writing and arithmetic skills.  Her name is also on a memorial dedicated to a one-room school house teachers located at Cedar Creek State Park in Gilmer County.
She is survived by one daughter, Patty Lee Gillespie Henson and son-in-law, Hershal Henson, of White Sulphur Springs; three grandchildren, Richard Lee Haveron, Melinda Sue Jones and Edward Lee Anderson, and their spouses, Donna Haveron, Greg Jones and Gina Anderson; eight grandchildren, Melissa and Amy Haveron, Jessica Massie, Kelsey Jones, Trista Jones, Jimmy Anderson, Emily and Genna Anderson; and one great-great-grandchild, Jordan Anderson. 
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today in the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in White Sulphur Springs with the Rev. Lillie Ginger
Lillie Cross Ginger, 68, a resident of Third Street in Belington, departed this life at 10:24 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, in the emergency department of the Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
She had been in failing health for quite some time.
She was born April 27, 1935, in Barbour County, the daughter of the late Thurmond and Thelma Ryan Cross.
She was twice married, formerly to Roy Bennett, who preceded her in death, and presently to Randy Ginger, who survives at their home in Belington.
She is survived by two sons, James Lynn Bennett and wife, Shirley, of Belington, and Bernie Bennett and wife, Kate, of Belington; three daughters, Ruth Ann Hoffman and husband, Arnold, of Preston County, Mary Sue Reel and husband, Mike, of the Audra community, and Doretta Bennett of Norton; and one brother, Henson Cross of Belington.
Grandchildren surviving are Susan Bennett; Dusty Bennett; Crystal Rhoades, whom Mrs. Ginger raised; Nancy Miles; Sally Hoffman; Lisa Hoffman; Robin Reel; Vicki Reel; Gary Reel; Rhonda Phillips, Allen Bennett; Jamie Bennett; Billy Bennett; and two stepgrandchildren, Joe Greathouse and Rachel Wrick.
Also surviving are 20 great-grandchildren and a 7-week-old great-granddaughter, Graci Lyn Lillian Schoonover, who was named after Mrs. Ginger.
Preceding her in death are one sister, Elizabeth Everson; and four half brothers, Bobbie, Jim, Earnest and Mason Scott.
Mrs. Ginger was a homemaker, attended the schools of Barbour County and formerly attended the Lambert Chapel United Methodist Church.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral Home in Belington from noon until 9 p.m. Sunday and on Monday until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home parlor with the Rev. F.L. “Wink” McQuain officiating. Interment will follow in the Lambert Cemetery near Belington. Margaret C. Glass
Margaret Colleen Glass, 67, of Route 1, Box 95E, Pennsboro, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at her home.
She was born Sept. 2, 1936, at Bomont, the daughter of the late Burl Hart and Fonda McComas Hart.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Lee Glass.
Surviving are one son, Mark Grimmell of Kearneysville; two daughters, Valli D. Andreasen of Apple Valley, Calif., and Leslie Grimmell of Takoma Park, Md.; two stepdaughters, Penelope Smith of Sterling, Va., and Stephanie Stone of Hong Kong, China; four sisters, Ocie Crowder of North Beach, Md., Barbara Dawson of Annapolis, Md., Patricia Serls of Bomont, and Sandra Daugherty of Charleston; and 15 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, June Horton and Audrey Robashoud.
She was a homemaker and a waitress.

Beulah Leota Beatty Glasscock, 87, a resident of 204 Wilton Ave., Elkins, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 15, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Allan C. and Sandy Glasscock at Petersburg. She had been in declining health since August of 2002 and death was attributed to cancer.

Beulah Glasscock
Beulah Leota Beatty Glasscock, 87, a resident of 204 Wilton Ave., Elkins, departed this life Tuesday morning, July 15, 2003, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Allan C. and Sandy Glasscock at Petersburg. She had been in declining health since August 2002 and death was attributed to cancer.
She was born Saturday, May 27, 1916, at Rosedale, a daughter of the late John L. Beatty and Mary Boone Beatty.
On Sept. 24, 1939, at Friendsville, Md, she was married to John Charles Glasscock, who preceded her in death on May 17, 1984.
Surviving are one son, Allan C. Glasscock and wife, Sandria L. Glasscock, Petersburg; and two granddaughters, Jennifer L. Glasscock, Harrisonburg, Va. and Heather L. Glasscock, Petersburg.
She was preceded in death by one son, John Charles Glasscock II, on Oct. 20, 1986.
Beulah was a graduate of Morgantown High School and served as secretary to Dr. Frank L. Shaffer of the Methodist Church at Morgantown. She later worked in the credit department at Montgomery Ward’s and at O.J. Morrison at Morgantown. She moved with her family to Dailey in 1947 and later to Elkins in 1956.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church at Elkins, the Randolph Chapter No. 74, Order of the Eastern Star and the Davis Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, where she served as a volunteer until August 2002.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. today. Thomas Glendening
Thomas R. Glendening, 79, a resident of 14 Dayton Park Road, Philippi, passed away at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 23, 1923, at Galloway, a son of the late Lawrance Cove and Ruth Iona (Hunt) Glendening.
He was united in marriage to the former Julia Ann Campbell, who preceded him in death in September 1993.
Surviving are one daughter, June Ellen Starliper, Ocean City, Md.; one sister, Genevia Purkey, Philippi; two grandchildren, Amie N. Starliper, Martinsburg, and Mark Starliper, Ocean City, Md.; one great-grandson, Eric Starliper, La Plata, Md.; one niece, Nancy Lea Chambers, Greensboro, N.C.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by one nephew, Thomas O. Purkey.
He was employed as a heavy equipment operator in the surrounding states, Kentucky, Maryland and Tennessee. He was a member of the United Mine Workers.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Robert “Buck” True and Pastor Bryan Headley officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Andrew Glendenning
Andrew David Glendenning, 26, of Morgantown, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 19, 2003, at his home.
He was born April 6, 1977, at Elkins, the son of Stephen A. and Molly L. Moore Glendenning, who survive at Junior.
Also surviving is one sister, Lesley A. Glendenning of Berkeley Springs. Maternal grandparents are Nancy J. Moore Bargeron and Claud R. Bargeron of Junior and the late Donald C. Moore. Paternal grandparents are the late Henry Hetzel and Wilda P. Ware Glendenning.
Mr. Glendenning was a 1995 graduate of Philip Barbour High School, where he participated in soccer. He was currently employed as a salesman at Campus Ford in Morgantown.
He grew up in the Bethel United Methodist Church at Junior. He enjoyed music and all sports and was known as a loyal friend.

Clarence Gochenour
Clarence E. Gochenour Sr., 77, a resident of the Tygart Hotel, Elkins, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 28, 1925, at New Market, Va., a son of the late John G. and Lelian Shirkey Gochenour.
He was married to Madalene Grace Rosier, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by two sons, Clarence E. Gochenour Jr. of Elkins, and Tommy Gochenour of New Market, Va.; one daughter, Betty Ann Lucas of Stanley, Va.; three brothers, Harold Benjamin Gochenour of Virginia, Charles David Gochenour of Criders, Va., and George Walter Gochenour of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Irene Alice Knupp of Broadway, Va., and Rosalee Gochenour of Buckhannon; one stepson, Harold Rosier of Baltimore, Md.; one stepdaughter, Joyce Fansler of Parsons; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, John G. Gochenour Jr.; and one sister, Lois Virginia Zirk.
Mr. Gochenour was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the H.W. Daniels Post No. 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. today at the American Legion’s Little Arlington Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Ellis E. Conley will officiate. Full military rites will be accorded at the gravesite by members of H.W. Daniels Post No. 29 American Legion and Tygart Valley Post 3647 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Philip Godwin, 68, a resident of St. George, departed this life Monday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2003. He had been in declining health.

Philip A. Godwin Sr.
Philip Allen “Buckwheat” Godwin Sr., 68, a resident of the Mt. Zion community near St. George, departed this life Monday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2003, at his home. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to respiratory failure.
He was born Sept. 3, 1935, at Parsons, the son of the late Arthur Homer Godwin and Bessie Marie Plum Godwin.
On Oct. 20, 1956, at Parsons, he was united in marriage to the former Betty Jean Ball, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, Philip Allen Godwin Jr., and wife, Lorraine, of Parsons; two daughters, Phyllis Ann Godwin of St. George, and Brenda Kay Beers and husband, Steve, of Palmyra, Pa.; one brother, Donald A. Godwin and wife, Annette, of Hershey, Pa.; three grandchildren, Lorraine Eisenhower of St. George, and Nathan Todd Beers and Lance Michael Beers, both of Palmyra, Pa.; two stepgrandchildren, Jimmy Godfrey and Michelle Godfrey; and one stepgreat-grandchild, Makayla Godfrey.
Mr. Godwin attended the Milton S. Hershey Boys School at Hershey, Pa., where he graduated with the class of 1954, studied horticulture and was an undefeated championship wrestler.
He served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Reserve.
He was a welder by trade, and in 1990 retired from the H.B. Reese Candy Co.
He was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and the American Legion at Campbelltown, Pa., of which he was a former treasurer. He was a member of the American Rifle Association and was an avid coin and gun collector. He was a noted outdoorsman and was a Civil War enthusiast.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home in Parsons from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor at 2 p.m. Thursday. Stella M. Godwin
Stella Monahan Godwin, 92, a resident of North Randolph Avenue, Leadsville community, and more recently a resident of the Elkins Regional Convalescent Center, departed this life early Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at the center. She had been in declining health for the past two months.
She was born Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1910, in Belington, a daughter of the late William Monahan and Margaret Simpson Monahan.
On April 15, 1943, at Oakland, Md., she was married to Kenneth M. Godwin, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1986.
Surviving her are one son, Austin Joe Godwin and wife, Sandra, of Montrose; a daughter-in-law, Jean Miller of Maryland; two sisters, Emma Wilson of Florida, and Helen Godwin of Elkins; four granddaughters, Lavada Yoakum and husband, Mike, of Elkins, Julia Brumfield and husband, Breck, of Huntington, Debbie Robertson and husband, Larry, of Laurel, Md., and Dianna Kanyer and husband, Walter, of Odessa, Fla.; three great-granddaughters, Angela Yoakum, Lauren Brumfield and Samantha Kanyer; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Leslie O. Miller; three brothers, Odell Monahan, Andrew Monahan and Howard Monahan; and one sister, Lena Moats.
She attended the schools of Barbour County. Prior to her marriage, she worked in the Belington Post Office for several years. During World War II, she worked for Glen L. Martin Aircraft Co. in Baltimore, Md. She was a homemaker, a great cook, an avid birdwatcher and loved nature and crossword puzzles. She was a member of AARP, and a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church for the past 57 years.
Friends will be received at Lohr & Barb Funeral Home from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home chapel Wednesday at 11 a.m. The Rev. Donald L. Kenneth Neil Goff, 66, of Salt Lick Road, Route 1, Montrose, died Sunday morning, Aug. 31, 2003, in the Davis Memorial Hospital following an unexpected illness.
He was born June 17, 1937, in Coalton, the son of the late Everett and Bertha Rowan Goff.
Surviving are three sons, Joe Goff and wife, Debbie, of Buckhannon, Dave Goff and wife, Darla, and Nikki Goff and wife, Sheila, all of Belington; three daughters, Judy Booth and husband, Terry, of Philippi, Jeana White and husband, Wayne, of Belington and Anna Graham and husband, Jeff, of Elkins; two brothers, Lewis Earl Goff of Ellamore and Clyde Goff of Vienna, Ohio; one sister, Marie Temple of Elyria, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Chad Booth of Moatsville, Amanda Bennington and Jonathan Goff, both of Buckhannon, Natasha White of Belington, Ryan Booth of Philippi, Kelsey Auvil of Elkins and Mikala Goff of Belington; four great-grandchildren, Miya Goff, Alicia and Damien Bennington, all of Buckhannon, and Ashley Booth of Moatsville; his former wife, Carmen Kittle of Elkins; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmy Goff, Robert Goff and Sterling Goff.
Mr. Goff was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America District 31 and Laurel Mountain Post 410 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Belington.

David G. Golden
David G. Golden, 53, of Route 2, Belington, died at 9:40 p.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, in the Broaddus Hospital Long Term Care Facility following an extended illness.
He was born April 8, 1949, at Elkins, the son of the late Guy F. and Mildred Hasleah Bolton Golden.
Surviving are his wife, the former Sandra K. Skidmore, who survives at Route 2, Belington; two daughters, Shelly Lynn Everson and husband, Keith, and Melody Elaine Coleman, all of Philippi; two stepchildren, Lori Ann Snyder and husband, Richard, Buckhannon, and Robert Earl Oldaker, Belington; three grandchildren, Brittany Everson, Shannon Everson and Brandon Brown; and two stepgrandchildren, Ashley Boley and Sara Leggett.
Mr. Golden was a retired craftsman for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Laurel Mountain Post 410 Veterans of Foreign Wars and a lifelong member of the Democratic Party.

He was born July 16, 1925 at Davis, a son of the late Fuller Gooding and Naomi Griffith Gooding.
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Theresa L. "Terry" Komrofske Gooding, Keyser; a son, Ernest J. Gooding Sr., and wife, Robin E., Montrose; a daughter, Kathleen T. Gooding-Jose and Husband, John, Inwood; two sisters, Cornell Knotts, Sugarlands, Martha Gibson, Moro, Ark.; five grandchildren, Jonni B., Jose, Ernest J. Gooding Jr., Kelly D. Gooding, Matthew E. Gooding, Katie L. Gooding; and a great granddaughter, Katlyn E. Riffle.
Preceding him in death are three brothers, Fuller E. Gooding, Ernest M. Gooding and Harry H. Gooding. He was a graduate of Thomas High School and the Industrial Engineering College of Chicago, Ill. He served with the US Army during World War II, and retired from the Mineral Fabrication and Machine Co. as a machinist.
Mr. Gooding and his wife owned and operated the former Terry's Restaurant near Parsons, for many years.
He was a member of the Boyce Houser Post 41, American Legion and the VFW Post 6775 Queen's Point at McCoole.  He was a member of the Church of Assumption and the Knights of Columbus Council 10545.

Harry Jay Gordon, 91, of Harry Gordon Road, Circleville, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2003, at his residence.
He was born May 3, 1911, at Circleville, a son of the late William and Mary Nelson Gordon.
He married Effie Bennett, who survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Bonnie Anderson, Eagle Rock, Va., Shelby Mullenax, Harman, Sandra Lambert, Seneca, and Wilma Lambert, Stuart, Va.; three sons, Randolph Gordon, Princeton, Ronald Gordon and Donald Gordon, both of Greenbank; 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon; and one sister, Nellie.
He was retired from the U.S. Forestry Service after 28 1/2 years as a Wildlife Manager Deputy Game Warden. He was a member of the Moose Lodge, Isaac Walton League and was a Methodist.

Donald Thomas Goss, 61, of Hambleton, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Oct. 11, 1941, in Parsons, a son of Christine Maxine Repair Goss, who survives, and the late John Francis Goss.
Also surviving are his very loving family and wife of 39 years and 11 months, Saundra Kay Syrian Goss; three sons, Donald T.C. Goss II of Roanoke, Va., Michael J. Goss of Thomas, and Shawn P. and wife, Candice Goss, of Fredericksburg, Va.; niece, Amie Lewis of Parsons; one brother, John Goss of Parsons; two sisters, Carol Thomas and Linda Gray, both of Parsons; four grandchildren, Simone Larzelere, Jordan Goss, Alexander Goss and Victoria Goss; two special grandchildren, Sharee Thomas and Mikhail Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goss was employed as a postmaster for Aurora. He was a member of the NALC. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and a former member of Alpine Festival Inc. and Parsons Kiwanis Club.

Swaminathan Gowrisankaran
Swaminathan Gowrisankaran, 23, a native of India and more recently a resident of Beltsville, Md., departed this life Sunday morning, July 20, 2003, while swimming in the Red Run River, near Lanesville, Tucker County. Death was attributed to accidental drowning.
He was a doctorate student in the mechanical engineering department at the University of Maryland, at College Park, Md., and was camping at Dolly Sods with three of his college friends.
He will return to Madras, India, where burial ceremonies will be celebrated.

Fern Martin Graves
Fern H. Martin Graves, 82, a patient in Nella’s Inc., passed away at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in the nursing home.
She was born Oct. 19, 1920, in Parsons, the daughter of the late Homer D. and Amaretta Clark Martin.
She was formerly married to Col. John Graves.
Surviving are five brothers, Roscoe R. Martin of Gainesville, Fla., Ersel E. Martin of Southern Pines, N.C., Carroll C. Martin of Elkins, and Robert G. Martin and Donald P. Martin, both of Alexandria, Va.
One sister, Opal Martin, and a brother, Dr. Homer D. Martin, preceded her in death.
Ms. Graves was baptized at the age of 16 at the Montrose Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Elkins High School with the class of 1937 and graduated from Clarksburg Business College.
Following her marriage, the Graves lived in New Orleans, La., where she worked for the International House devoted to improving trade between the United States and Latin American countries.
Then they moved to Guam for two years and later to California where Ms. Graves served as office manager of a law firm.
Upon retirement, she moved to Raleigh, N.C., where she remained until moving to Elkins, first living at Colonial Place and later at Nella’s Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Donald L. Lockhart will officiate and interment will follow. The Tomblyn Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements for Fern H. Martin Graves.  From 26 Aug 2003.

Patsy K. Gray
Patsy K. Gray, 60, of Route 1, Union Road, Philippi, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born March 15, 1943, in Philippi, the daughter of the late Burl A. and Vondale Jones Jones.
She was united in marriage on Dec. 28, 1961, to Harold T. Gray, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Keith Gray of Philippi, Ron Gray and wife, Teresa, of Philippi, and Rob Gray and wife, Shelli, of Philippi; four sisters, Rosalee Lilly of Venice, Fla., Marilyn Ann Gall and husband, Johnnie, of Millersville, Md., Alberta Wilkins and husband, Harold, of Great Valley, N.C., Barbara Snider and husband, Russell, of Philippi; one brother, Scott Jones of Rogersville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, T.J., Miranda and Adrian Gray.
She worked as a day care mother and was a Methodist by faith.

Augustine I. Green
Augustine I. Green, 80, of 151 Camden Ave., Buckhannon, died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at 6:48 p.m. in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.
She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Coleman C. Oldaker and Freda May Oldaker.
On May 5, 1945, she married the Rev. S.L. Green, who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are one son, Jimmie L. Green and wife, Cheri, Buckhannon; two sisters, Helen Ruth Wagner and husband, Stanley, Buckhannon, and Dorothy Hill and husband, William, Atlanta, Ga.; two grandsons, Clint Green and wife, Aimee, and Jon Green, all of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Mindi McGrew and husband, Jason, and Shelli Lantz and husband, Eric, all of Buckhannon; one great-grandson, Jack Lee McGrew, Buckhannon; one great-granddaughter, Madison Reese Green, Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Violet Marie Thomas; and one brother, Burton Oldaker.
She was a homemaker and a United Methodist by faith.

Eula M. Green
Eula M. Green, 79, a resident of Valley Head, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at 8:25 a.m. in Ruby Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 19. She had been in failing health since 1979, however death was unexpected.
She was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late George A. and Dola Jane Bowers Bennett.
In December 1941, she was united in marriage to Floyd H. Green, who preceded her in death in 1989.
Surviving are her only son, Okey D. “Derold” Singleton and wife, Hilde, of Avon, Ohio; one sister, Euna “Bee” Ball of Monterville; three grandchildren, Teresa Mucke, Kimberly Hanchosky and Cynthia Frank. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Hilda B. Price.
She was a former cook at Hickory Lick School. She was then employed by West Liberty College in housekeeping. She was a homemaker and loved to garden.
Friends will be received at F.E. Runner Funeral Home Chapel Tuesday after 6 p.m. On Wednesday, she will be moved to Point Mountain Union Mission Church for visitation from noon until 1 p.m. the funeral hour. The Rev. Donald R. Greene
Donald R. Greene, 61, of Martinsburg passed away Sept. 5, 2003, at his residence.
He was born Sept. 28, 1941, in Barbour County, the son of the late Kenneth and Mary McVicker Greene.
Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Jo Bartlett Greene; two sons, Greg Snider and wife Linda of Hedgesville, and Doug Snider and wife Janette of Philippi; three daughters, Barbie Sandy and husband P.J. of Lorton, Va., Vicky Ferguson of Grafton and Janie Smith and husband Anthony of Philippi; and 13 grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He is also survived by five brothers, Kenny Greene of Leonardtown, Md., Steve Greene and Michael Greene of Martinsburg, and Danny Greene and Tommy Greene of Philippi; five sisters, Rosita Baughman of Roanoke, Va., Isabell Freeman of Clarksburg, Ann Thrasher of Martinsburg, Diana Smith of Green River, N.Y., and Mary Prather of Hampton, Va.
Mr. Greene is also survived by Matthew, Cherri, Suzanne, Karen and his loving dog, Angel.
He attended Johnstown Bible Church and retired from General Motors.

Erma L. Gregory
Erma Lorraine Gregory, 69, of 330 Donald Lane, Winter Haven, Fla., died Monday, June 16, 2003, at her home in Rock Cave.
She was born June 15, 1934, in Cleveland, a daughter of Mabel Wilson Dever, who survives in Frenchton, and the late Gilbert Boyce Dever.
On May 20, 1955, she married Floyd Gregory, who survives.
Also surviving are one son, David Gregory and wife, Doris, Rock Cave; four brothers, Harold Dever, Crawford, Carl Dever, Goldsborough, N.C., John Dever, Shannon, N.C., and Dana Dever, Mt. Crawford, Va.; three sisters, Elsie Berline, Coraopolis, Pa., Sue Bergfeld, French Creek, and Jean Keelin, Granada, Miss.; three grandsons, David Gregory Jr., Michael Gregory and Scott Gregory, all of Rock Cave; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Dever.
She was a caregiver in Buckhannon and a member of the Assembly of God.

Thomas B. Griffith
Thomas Burton “Jack” Griffith, 84, a former resident of Hambleton, and more recently a resident of Memorial Drive, Parsons, where he had made his home with his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Tina Griffith, departed this life Monday morning, Jan. 27, 2003, at home. He had been in declining health and death was attributed to pneumonia.
He was born May 5, 1918, at Whitmer, a son of the late Roy Lester Griffith and Mary Virginia Kerns Griffith.
During 1959, in Georgia, he was married to Opal Mae Snyder, who preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 1965.
Surviving are two sons, James Daniel Griffith and wife, Tina, Parsons, and Michael Anthony Griffith and wife, Mary, Hambleton; one daughter, Ginger Bennett, Ohio; five grandchildren, James D. Griffith Jr., Joshua S. Griffith, both of Parsons, Sarah A. Griffith, Eric M. Griffith, both of Hambleton, and Marshall Summerville, Ohio.
He was the last surviving member of his immediate family, having been preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Faye Griffith; three brothers, Joseph, Charles “Bud” and Phil Griffith; and one sister, Genevieve Fick.
He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, serving in the European Theater, and was awarded the American Defense Ribbon and the Bronze Star. He worked for Dupont Chemical Co. of Charleston, the Kingsford Charcoal Co. of Parsons, the Kelly Foundry at Zanesville, Ohio, and was co-owner of the former Twinkle Twin Taxi of Parsons and the Parsons Nursery. He attended the Church of Christ at Bretz. He was a lifetime member of the former Garnett Post American Legion and a lifetime member of the Disabled Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends at Barb & Greenlief Funeral Home Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday at 11 a.m. The H.W. Evelyn E. Grimes
Evelyn E. Grimes, 78, a resident of Route 1, Marlinton, and a former resident of Philippi, passed away Aug. 5, 2003, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 10, 1924, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Bruce and Susan (Fleming) Davis.
She was united in marriage Sept. 6, 1958, to John Robert "Bob" Grimes, who preceded in death on Dec. 20, 1995.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Joseph H. "Joe" and wife, Becky Grimes, Marlinton; and one granddaughter, Olivia Paige Grimes, Marlinton.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Gray; and one brother, Loyd Davis.
She was a pharmacy clerk and partner in the Davis Drug Store in Philippi. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Morgantown.
Friends will be received at Wright Funeral Home, 216 N. Walnut St., Philippi, after 7 p.m. today and until 11 a.m. Friday, the service hour. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery in Marlinton.  From 6 Aug 2003. 

Frank X. Grindinger
Frank X. Grindinger, 86, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died at home Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2003, under the loving care of his children and Pikes Peak Hospice.
He was born Sept. 9, 1917, in Omaha, Neb., to Francis Xavier and Mary Hubertina Ising Grindinger. His parents are now deceased.
He was preceded in death by Peggy, his beloved wife of 61 years; one daughter, Patty Elliott; two sisters, Bea Crump and Peggy Bush; and an infant brother, Lee Edward Grindinger.
Frank was a respected member of the Colorado Springs community. He and two partners bought G.W. Struthers & Son Slaughterhouse in 1944 and changed the name to G&C Packing Co. The company will celebrate 60 years in business next year with Frank’s son, Frank III, as the current owner.
Frank was an avid golfer from his youth until recently. He enjoyed many golf trips with Peggy and won several golf trophies in local competitions. He was a longtime member of the Soil and Water Conservation Society and the Colorado Springs Executive Club. He enjoyed following football games and golf tournaments. He appreciated many kinds of music.
In addition to his only son, Frank III, Frank is survived by his daughters, Barbara Carter of Elkins, Susan Bowman, Joan O’Neill, Margie Plucinski, Beth Carrier and Teresa Hoover, all of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Jack Grindinger of Sun City West, Ariz., and Jerry Grindinger of Ventura, Calif.; one sister, Jean Nelson of Denver, Colo.; 23 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Shrine of Remembrance “America the Beautiful” Chapel of Roses, followed by the Rosary at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, 1520 E. Yampa St., Colorado Springs, Colo. Ruth Pauline Grogan, 76, of Durbin, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital.

Surviving are one son, Theodore Arbogast and wife, Carol, of Durbin; one sister, Lucille Varner of Crystal Springs; one brother, Ray Varner of Bedford, Pa.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ruth Pauline Grogan, 75, of Durbin, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins.
Mrs. Grogan was born May 20, 1928, at Boyer, the daughter of the late James H. and Birdie Simmons Varner.

David Gum
David Paul Gum, 44, of Belington, departed this life at 9 a.m., Thursday, November 20, 2003 in the emergency department of Davis Memorial Hospital. He had been in declining health for five years.
Mr. Gum was born Aug. 23, 1959, in Detroit, Mich., a son of Don W. and Margaret B. Gum, who survives in Belington.
Also surviving are one daughter, Michelle Kind of South Carolina; one son, David Paul Gum Jr. of St. Louis; one granddaughter, Breann Gum of Michigan; one brother, Michael Ray Gum of Hazel Park, Mich.; three sisters, Susan Dieann Hobert and husband, Ron, of Hazel Park, Sherry Lee Marstiller of Durbin, and Brenda Kay Gum of Belington; his maternal grandmother, Bernice Barlow of Montrose, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Grover and Donie Gum; his maternal grandfather, Alfred Barlow; one brother, Gary Allen Barlow; one sister, Carol Ann Gum; and one infant nephew, Lucas Anthony Gum.
Mr. Gum attended the schools of Hazel Park, Mich., and before becoming disabled was a laborer in various factories in Michigan.
At the request of the deceased, Mr. Gum’s remains will be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the Talbott Funeral Home Saturday at 12:45 pm with the Rev. Pat Cassidy officiating. The Talbott Funeral Home in Belington is in charge of the arrangements for David Paul Gum.  From 21 Nov 2003.

Glen G. Guthrie
Glen G. Guthrie, 81, of Route 2, Box 155, Excelsior community, Buckhannon, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2003, at 5 p.m. at his residence.
He was born Oct. 7, 1921, at Ellamore, a son of the late John A. and Abby Moss Guthrie.
On Aug. 10, 1942, he married Algana Guthrie, who survives in Buckhannon.
Also surviving are two daughters, Margaret Domine and husband, Norman, Allen Park, Mich., and Patricia Zilly and husband, Richard, Yorktown, Va.; four sisters, Gladys Spradley and Alma Rawls, both of Hampton, Va., Jane Lowe and Mildred Mulliken, both of Buckhannon; two granddaughters, Brigitte and husband Raymond Lipa Jr., Allen Park, Mich., and Diana Domine, Allen Park, Mich.; one grandson, Glen Zilly, Phoenix, Ariz.; one great-granddaughter, Brianna Lipa, Allen Park, Mich.; and one great-grandson, William Lipa, Allen Park, Mich.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Sterling Guthrie; and one sister, Ruth Guthrie.
He was an auto mechanic and owner of Guthrie Garage for 35 years. He was ordained as a Deacon in 1953 and was a member of Sand Run Baptist Church. He was a member of the coin and stamp club of Buckhannon.
Friends will be received at Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home today from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. On Tuesday, he will be moved to Sand Run Baptist Church, where he will lie in state from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., the funeral hour, with the Rev. Former Elkins City Attorney Gustke Dies at 42 from Cancer

Former Elkins City Attorney Cynthia Santoro Gustke, 42, who battled breast cancer since 1997, died Jan. 11 in a Pittsburgh hospital from complications of the disease and its treatment.
“She was a person when something was not right, she made sure it was right,” said former Elkins Mayor Jimmy Hammond, who was also a neighbor of Gustke and her husband, James, on Cherry Street.
“Everybody liked her,” he said.
“The bravery and courage she displayed in her fight with breast cancer was inspirational,” Dr. Brett Rosenblum wrote to James Gustke following Cynthia Gustke’s death. “I’ve never met anyone who was so ‘matter-of-fact’ and ‘no nonsense’ in her approach to her illness,” Rosenblum said.
“It seemed as though she never slowed down, though I’m sure behind the scenes it was very difficult,” he said. “She was able to enjoy life through it all. This attitude I will never forget. She left us all too soon.”
Born in Terra Haute, Ind., Gustke graduated cum laude from West Virginia University in 1982 and from the WVU College of Law in 1985.
Almost immediately she began her legal career in Parkersburg as a Wood County assistant prosecutor. One of the circuit judges at that time was Arthur N. Gustke, the father of James Gustke.
Married in July 1987, Cynthia and James Gustke moved to Charleston for her to work as a disciplinary counsel for the West Virginia State Bar.
In 1990, they moved to Elkins where she worked as an associate and later as a partner in the Busch & Talbott law firm.
In 1997, she formed her own law firm, specializing in civil litigation. She was recognized statewide as a consultant and expert witness in the field of legal ethics and malpractice.
A lecturer on issues of legal ethics at the WVU Law School and at educational seminars throughout the state, Gustke also taught business law at Davis & Elkins College.
In 2000, however, she decided to close her legal practice to concentrate on her health and to allow time for travel. The Gustkes toured extensively throughout the United States and the world, and in the past two years the couple visited Mexico, England, Spain and Italy.
“Cynthia loved life more than anyone I have ever known,” said James Gustke. “She accomplished more, both personally and professionally, than many of us manage to do given twice the time.
“She was amazingly intelligent. We could talk for hours about politics and history, good books and gourmet cooking. We never once ran out of things to say. I am a much better person for having known her.
“She was my best friend and soul mate and I will dearly miss her beautiful smile,” he said. “She could laugh and have a positive outlook on life, even when her situation became very difficult.”
And even when confronted with breast cancer, a foe she faced for over five years, she “displayed tremendous class and strength of will,” he said.
“She would work out in the gym, take long walks with friends, or go on bike rides in the woods with me to stay in shape and maintain her strength,” James Gustke said. “She snow skied in the winter and went on spa weekends in the summer with her girlfriends. You would never hear her complain or dwell on her disease.
“Even though she was known throughout the state as a very good lawyer, many people didn’t know Cynthia had breast cancer until she decided to shut down her office,” he said. “She knew this was a private battle and she didn’t want pity or to burden anyone else with her troubles. All Cynthia wanted was to live a normal, happy life, and she made the most of the time she was given.”
Former Wood County Prosecutor Harry Deitzler said Gustke was a “brave and wonderful person.”
“She distinguished herself representing individuals in need, including women who were sexually harassed in the workplace as well as persons who were injured through no fault of their own,” Deitzler said.
Tom Tinder, executive director for the West Virginia State Bar, said Gustke “was certainly well known and well respected by her colleagues in the legal profession and she served her clients well with her legal expertise.”
“She was just a fine person and her death is a distinct loss to the legal profession and to the community in which she was very active,” Tinder said.
In her first job out of law school, Family Court Judge Jaymie Godwin Wilfong of Elkins worked with Gustke at the Busch & Talbott law firm.
In a card written by Wilfong and sent to Gustke when she was in the hospital, Wilfong expressed gratitude for Gustke being a role model for her.
“As you must know, good examples of lawyers are rare,” Godwin wrote. “Good examples of female lawyers are even fewer. I have been fortunate to be your ‘student’ and friend.”
Godwin, who took her oath as the family court judge earlier this month, also said, “I am forever mindful of your ethics, hard work and great courtroom demeanor. You are really one of a kind.”
Cynthia Gustke was the daughter of Elizabeth Santoro of Hudson, Fla., and the late John Santoro. She is also survived by Mary Leigh Harper of Spring Hill, Fla.
