Abbie Thelma Lilly, 84, of Flat Top, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002, at her home following a long illness. Born July 15, 1917, at Flat Top, she was the daughter of the late Wil-liam Londa Lilly and Rox-ie Lee Stanley Lilly. Mrs. Lilly was a lifelong resident of Flat Top. She was a farmer and an avid gardener. "Miss Thelma" was the retired cook and janitor of Flat Top Elementary School, where she worked for 30 years. She was a member of Flat Top Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 48 years, Clarence Clyde Lilly; her second husband of 17 years, Wil-liam Green Lilly; three brothers, William Toy Lilly, Freddie Earnest Lilly and Robert Washington Lilly; an infant daughter, Anna May Lilly; and an infant great-granddaughter, Melissa Marie Lilly. Survivors include two sons, Clinton Rovey Lilly and his wife, Nelsa, of Pomona, Calif., and Clyde Eugene Lilly and his wife, Margaret, of Shady Spring; stepchildren, William G. "Pete" Lilly Jr. of Scott Depot and his wife, Bobbie, Delores Sue Bry-ant and husband, James, of Spanishburg, Barbara Jo Walker of Spanishburg, Bernice Hammond of Stevensville, Md., Mary Belle Compton of Florida and Becky Echols and husband, Tom, of Princeton; and sisters, Iva Hatcher and husband, Aus-tin, of Inverness, Fla., and Lena Hershey of North Ridgeville, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Randy Lilly, Darrell Lilly, Marjorie Allan, Cindy Dutra, Mary Wylie, David Lilly and Jason Lilly; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. Service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Rose and Quesenberry Shady Spring Chapel with Elder Lewis Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Freddie Lilly Cemetery, Flat Top. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Donations of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, P.O.
