Henry Lee Hornsby, Sr., 62, of Bradley, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2001, in Georgetown University Hospital following a sudden illness. Born Nov. 29, 1939, in Bradley, he was the son of Helen Marie Sundman Hornsby of Bradley and the late Carl Hornsby Sr. Mr. Hornsby was the owner of Henry's Radiator Shop. He served in the West Virginia National Guard. He attended Maple Fork Baptist Church. He enjoyed his family, church, gospel music and racing. He had been involved in racing since 1959, both racing and supporting his son, No. 39. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl Hornsby Jr. and Lewis Hornsby. Other survivors include his wife of 39 years, Bonnie Sowder Hornsby; a son, Henry Lee Hornsby Jr. and his wife, Jill, of Maple Fork; a daughter, Debra Sue Hornsby of Bradley; and three grandchildren, Mary Kristen Price and John Pate Price, both of Bradley, and Henry Lee Hornsby III of Maple Fork. Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Funeral Home Chapel, Beckley, with Pastor Robert L. Barley officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley. Friends may call 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bobby Barley, Gary Pennington, Ed Harless, Matt Barley, Chris Huffman, Joe Meadows, Randy Boley and Frank Honaker.
