ROBERT LEE DARLING, born 9 Mar 1924, in Kanawha County, W.Va., was the son of Charles B. Darling and Anna Graham, married in Kentucky in 1912. Per the marriage record, Anna Graham was born in Belmont, Pleasants County, W.Va. The family is found in Charleston, W.Va. census records in 1930 and 1940.

The father, Charles B. Darling, died in 1940. His widow, Anna, must have moved back to Belmont, Pleasants County after her husband's death and she was there when Robert Lee Darling was killed. She died in Belmont in 1955 and is buried in Charleston near her husband.
