Robert Hedrick
Blake
Robert Hedrick, 84, of Seneca Rocks passed away on Monday, May 10, 2010, at his
residence.
Mr.
Hedrick was born on Oct. 21, 1925 in Macksville, the son of the late Charles
Glenn and Myrtle D. Raines Hedrick.
He
attended Dixie Schoolhouse, Harper Gap School, Circleville High School and High
Rock United Methodist Church. He was
a farmer and a cattleman.
On
Dec. 18, 1951, he married Ina Lee Phares, who survives at Seneca Rocks.
Also
surviving are two daughters, Diane McMorrow and Patti Hedrick, both of Seneca
Rocks; a sister, Gae Mullenax and husband, Garland of Cherry Grove; a
sister-in-law, Helen Hedrick of Petersburg; four grandchildren, Doug Wimer, Jr.,
Traci McMorrow, Kyle Kisamore and Ashley Kisamore Kimble; and a
great-granddaughter, Madison Rose Sword.
He
was also preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Sheldon and Darrell; and
two sisters, Mildred Nelson and Thelma Lambert.
Funeral
services will be held today at 11:00 a.m. at the High Rock United Methodist
Church with Pastor Rebecca Bennett officiating.
Burial will be in Hedrick Family Cemetery.

family received friends on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Basagic
Funeral Home in Franklin.
Nancy
L. Bland, 72
Nancy
L. Bland, 72, of Mentor, OH, passed away Friday, May 7, 2010, at her residence.
Born
June 10, 1937, in Pittgas, PA, she was the daughter of the late William and Anna
Marie (Nohavicka) Petrovich.
She
was a Lake County, OH, resident for more than 50 years, living in Wickliffe,
Willoughby Hills and Mentor, OH. She
had previously lived in Cleveland, OH.
Mrs.
Bland loved her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She especially loved being at home and working around the house.
Surviving
are five children, Richard M. (Robbie Ann Conner) Butera of Mentor, OH, Michelle
M. (Loren) Frans of Eastlake, OH, Michael R. (Terri) Butera of Willoughby, OH,
Kimberly A. (Jim) Duthie of Madison, OH, and Bryan K. (Trisha) Butera of
Willoughby Hills, OH; 18 grandchildren, Richard (Julie) Butera, Robert (Sarah
Pearson) Butera, Brooke Butera, Jeremy Butera, Jonathan Walker, Jared Frans,
Tori Butera, Andrew Butera, Jacqui Duthie, Ashley Duthie, Kelly Duthie, Ian
Duthie, Nathan Duthie, Alli Butera, Hunter Butera, Emme Butera, Chase Butera and
Elle Butera; three great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Gabrielle and Christian; three
siblings, Matilda Daviero of Brownsville, PA, Donald Petrovich of Montville, OH,
and Sarah Matovich of Waynesburg, PA; sister-in-law, Philberta Bland of
Riverton; and close friend, Arveda Bennett.
She
was also preceded in death by her longtime companion, William Matthews; and
siblings, Anna Demczyk, William Petrovich Jr., Frances McJunkin and Martha
Vianno.
Funeral
services were held Tuesday at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home,
Willoughby, OH, with Rev. Robert A. Gaston officiating.
Burial was private in Pennsylvania.
Alvin “Poppy”
Davis
Alvin
“Poppy” Davis, 86, of Maysville died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Grant
Memorial Hospital, Petersburg.
Born
June 23, 1923, in Maysville, he was the son of the late Isaac Davis and Rachel (Rohrbaugh)
Davis.
Mr.
Davis was a carpenter and worked for the National Forestry Service.
His
wife, Virginia “Polly” VanMeter Davis, preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2010
Surviving
are three sons, James W. Davis of Yellow Springs, Paul T. Davis of Winchester,
VA, and Donald E. Davis of Old Fields; three daughters, Susan L. Goldizen of New
Creek, Shirley A. Hoover of Sugar Grove and Linda L. Gaither of Romney; 10
grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Charlotte Martin and
Pauline Berg, both of Petersburg, and Maxine Heavener of Cabins; and two
brothers, Paul Davis of Tempe, AZ, and Virgil Davis of Winchester, VA.
He
was also preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn and Clyde Davis, and two
sisters, Elsie Hawk and Maude Lease.
Funeral
services were held April 6, 2010, at the Schaeffer Funeral Home Chapel,
Petersburg, with the Rev. Nathan Jefferys officiating.
Interment followed in the Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Maysville.
