(Transcribed as written, with no punctuation) William W Hornbrook In the name of God Amen I William W Hornbrook of the county of Ohio and State of Virginia being sick and weak in body but of sound mind and memory considering the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof do make this my last will and testament in manner following that is to say 1st My will is that the expenses of my last sickness and funeral be first paid-- 2nd All just debts by me owing at the time of my death 3rd that the balance of my personal property together with my real estate I do will and bequeath to my dearly beloved wife Sarah Hornbrook whos (sic) maiden name was Sarah Christopher-- 4th Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife Sarah Hornbrook to be the whole & sole executrix of this my last will & testament revoking and annulling all former wills be me heretofore made ratifying and confirming the In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of April in the year of our Lord 1840. William Wellington Hornbrook At a Court held for the County of Ohio on the 9th day of September 1840 The last will and testament of William W Hornbrook deceased was this day presented to the Court and being proved by the oaths of Mary Ann Attwell Joseph D Attwell and William Long subscribing witnesses thereto is ordered to be recorded And Sarah Hornbrook widow & relict of said deceased and the executrix named in the said will having by a note in writing to the Court here shown refused to take upon herself the burden of exexution (sic) thereof and which writing is ordered to be recorded on the motion of Joseph D Attwell who made oath and together with Lloyd J Hughes and George Relsall his securities entered into & acknowledged a bond in the penalty of three thousand dollars conditioned as the law directs certificate is granted the said Joseph D Attwell for obtaining letters of administrations in the said deceased estate with his will aforesaid annexed in due form.
