THE WILL OF SALLIE B. SHALLCROSS Contributed by Marion Shallcross. Made 5 December 1891 - Proved 14 November 1892 Ohio County, Wheeling West Virginia Ohio County Will Book 7, Pages 459 & 460 "Sallie B. Shallcross Will" I Sallie B. Shallcross of the City of Wheeling do make publish and declare this writing to be my last will and testament. First: I direct that my debts and funeral expenses be paid. Second: I give to Claudin Shallcross who has been faithful and kind to me the sum of five hundred dollars. Third: I give to Archibald Shallcross, son of my brother Henry C. one hundred dollars to be paid him when he becomes twenty one years of age; but if he desires to use the money for the purpose of education, or to go into business before he is twenty one years old, then my executor is authorized to pay him the same or any part thereof. Fourth: I give to my brother Thomas P. Shallcross one hundred dollars to be paid him by my executor weekly at the rate of three dollars and fifty cents per week until it is paid. Fifth: I give Rev. Jacob Brittingham, Rector of St. Luke's P. E. Church in Wheeling one hundred dollars, to be expended by him for such Church purposes as he may deem advisable. Sixth: I give to Rebecca Baker in case she survives me twenty five dollars. Seventh: I give to William Barber (colored) twenty five dollars. Eighth: I release my brother Elwood W. from liability to pay a note of fifty dollars on which I am endorser and expect to pay. Ninth: I wish the residue of my estate disposed of as follows: I give one fifth thereof to my sister Annie R. Cowan; I give one fifth thereof to Rebecca the wife, and to Louisa Mary and Bessie the daughters of my brother Henry C Shallcross in equal shares; I give one fifth thereof to Elizabeth, the wife and to Harry the son of my brother William D. Shallcross in equal shares; I give one fifth thereof to Anna the wife, and to the children of my brother Elwood W. Shallcross, that is to say, one hundred dollars out of such one fifth, to Anna the wife of Elwood W. and the residue of such one fifth to his children; and I give one fifth thereof to Lydia the wife and to the children of my brother Alfred P. Shallcross, that is to say, one hundred dollars out of such one fifth to Lydia, the wife of Alfred P. and the residue of such one fifth to his children.
