SCHULTZ in the boot and shoe business at 26 Eleventh street, is a native of Prussia, and had learned his business as a worthy son of St. Crispin ere he left his native land. He arrived in America in 1866, first working at his trade in Savannah, Ga., for about ten months; then proceeded to Baltimore for a brief sojourn, and arrived in Wheeling in 1866. Here he continued as a journeyman till 1868, when he opened a workshop of his own on Market street, where he succeeded three years, and next opened a store at 1064 Main street. After twelve months at this location, he removed to No. 30 Eleventh street, but in April, 1876, took possession of his present excellent and inviting store at No. 26. He was married to Gertrude, youngest daughter of John Niesz, of Miltonsburg, Ohio, by whom he has two children.
