Pleasants County, West Virginia - Will of Moses Williamson MOSES WILLIAMSON SR. IN the Name of God Amen the 8th day of april in the yeare of our lord 1789 I Moses Williamson Senr. of the State of Virginia and Ohio County wearas being Sick and weak in body but of Perfect Mind and Memory thanks be given unto god therefore Calling unto Mind the Mortality of My body and Knowing that it is apointed for all men once to dy to Make and ordain this my last will and Testament that is to Say princapaly and first of all I give and Recomend my Soul into the hands of god that gave it and for My body I Ricomand it to the Earth to be Buried in a Cristian Like and desent Maner at the descration of My Executors Nothing doutting but at the General Resurection I Shall Recieve the Same again by the Mighty Power of god and Tuching Such worly Estate whearewith it hath pleased god to bless me in this life I give devise and dipose of the Same in the following Manner and forme Imprimes I leave and bequeeth to Jeanny my Dearely beloved wife and the one half of my posesion that I injoy Goods and Chattles while She lives and the other half tobe my Son Johns and at his death the Land wheare I live to fall to John and the other half of the Land to be made over to My Son Thomas and The rest of My Children I leave at their mothers death four dollors Each of them to be enjoied and I do Leave to my grand Child Jane Williamson Two Cows and my Son Thomas I leave the Farm and Tacklings at my death and I do theareby uterly Disalow Revoake and disanull All and Every other former Testaments wills and Legaces Bequeths and Excutors by me in any ways before this Time Names willed and bequeathed Ratifying and Confirming this and No other to be My last will & Testament in witness whearof I have heareunto Set My hand and Seal the day and yeare above writen Signed Sealed published and pronounced and decleared by the Said Moses Williamson as his last will and Testament in the Presents of us the Subscribers Test Moses Williamson seal David Shepard Dixon Huston John VanC(B)ruskish A Copy from the orignial Will which was Provin in Court by David Shepard and John Van C(B)ruskish Two of the Subscribing witneses at february Term 1792 & ordred to be Recorded Test Moses Chapline, Clk Ohio County, Virginia, Book 1, p 19, 20 (It is not known if he wrote this will or if it was written for him) Submitted by Anita Palmer.
