The Will of JACOB HORNBROOK Submitted by Mariana Zuelsdorf. (Transcribed as written) Jacob Hornbrook I, Jacob Hornbrook of the City of Wheeling in the State of Virginia do make and publish this my last will and testament as follows-- First, I will & desire that my funeral expenses & my just debts should be paid. Second, I will & desire, that out of my property, real or personal which I may at the time of my death be possessed of or entitled to, there should be paid to my Son Jacob Hornbook, within one year after my death, the sum of One thousand dollars. : And to my youngest Son Edwin Hornbrook the sum of Two Thousand dollars with interest from the time of my death the principal sum of Two Thousand dollars to be paid to the said Edwin upon his arriving at the age of Twenty one years, and the interest to be applied annually or oftener if necessary, to the maintenance, and Education of the said Edwin. Third, I desire that my Son Thomas Hornbrook shall have the custody and tuition of the said Edwin, until the said Edwin shall arrive at the age of Twenty One years, and for the purpose, I do hereby nominate & appoint the said Thomas guardian of the said Edwin, & direct that bond & security be not required of the said Thomas as such Guardian-- -- Fourth, Subject to and charged with the payments, funeral expenses, debts & legacies aforesaid, I give, devise & bequeath to my Son Thomas Hornbrook his heirs & assigns, all my real & personal estate, & all debts & demands, due or to become due to me or my estate. Fifth, I do hereby appoint my said Son Thomas, Executor of this my last Will & testament, & direct that bond & security be not required of him as such executor.
