BENJAMIN VALENTINE Benjamin Valentine was born in the city of Metz, France, in 1808; educated at Mainz, Germany, and at the university of Leipsig. Emigrated to New York in 1833, remaining about one year. He then removed to Matagorda, Tex., where he practiced three years, after which he located at Newport, Ohio, practicing there thirty years. In 1864 he came to Wheeling, practicing until his death in 1869. (Linda Fluharty)
