JOSEPH S. ELDER

Joseph S. Elder, who was born in Pennsylvania in 1843, came to 
Wheeling as a drug clerk, and while so employed, studied medicine, 
graduating from Miami Medical college at Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1871.  
He practiced here two years, when impaired health necessitated a 
change of climate.  He went to Mason, Tex., and there died in 
January, 1875.
