NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Steven Leslie Schneider, 39, of New Castle,
formerly of Pomeroy, Ohio, died April 18, 2000, in Mercy Hospital,
Pittsburgh.
A State Police trooper found Schneider unconscious in a parked
vehicle in New Castle, according to police reports.
Cause of death has not been determined, pending results of toxicology
testing, said a spokeswoman for the Allegheny County Coroner's
Office on Thursday.
Schneider was a painter and a member of Painters Local 409, Pittsburgh.

Robert P. and Judy Schneider of Florence, Ind.; mother, Charlotte

June 9, 2000, in Three Rivers, Mich.
Police in Michigan are investigating his death. A sergeant at
the Three Rivers Police Department said Saturday that he could
not release any information about the investigation.
Shaw was a welder with Nicholl Co. and a graduate of Point Pleasant
High School and Hobart Welding Institute, Troy, Ohio. He was a
member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant.

She was a member, choir member and Sunday school teacher at Harmony
Baptist Church. She was a retired secretary from the Army Corps
of Engineers and a former employee of the Mason County Extension
Services, Lakin State Hospital, and the Mason County Selective
Service Board.
Surviving: sons, James C. of Southside, John E. Jr. of Delaware,
Ohio; sisters, Eleanor Leu and Madge Barnes, both of New Martinsville;
brothers, Dale W. "Bud" Smith of Danvers, Mass., Robert

and was a member and former sergeant-at-arms of American Legion

Wayne Stone, 54, of Leon, WV, departed this life, June 5, 2000
at Pleasant Valley Hospital, Point Pleasant, WV, following a brief
illness.
He was born August 17, 1945 at Ripley, WV, a son of the late,
Vernon Hoyt and Mary Ethel (Livingston) Stone.
He was a finish carpenter by trade and was co-owner of Wayne Stone
and Son Contracting, Leon, WV. He was a protestant.
Surviving are his wife, Viola "Toots" (Smith) Stone;
sons and daughter in law, James Randall and Randi Stone of Point
Pleasant, Kevin Wayne Stone of Henderson and Vernon Wayne Stone,
Jr. of Leon; daughter and son in law, Angela Dawn and Brent Schilb
of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, Dillan Wayne Stone and Tristan
Cooper.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Treva Carol Stone;

United Methodist Church, former pastor of Creston UMC, Shiloah
UMC, Leon UMC, Elmwood UMC and Otter Branch UMC, and a member
of the United Methodist Conference of West Virginia. He was a
grand chaplain of the Grand Masonic Lodge of West Virginia, master
of Kanawha Valley Lodge 36 AF&AM, past district deputy grand
master 4th Masonic District, Point Pleasant Chapter No. 7 Royal
Rach Masons, and Point Pleasant Franklin Commandery No. 17 Knights
Templars. He was a member of Beni Kedem Shrine of Charleston and
past patron of Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 150 of Buffalo.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Daniel E. Williams Sr., 60, of Point Pleasant, husband of Patti
Lieving Williams, died Friday in Holzer Medical Center. He was
a retail manager. Also surviving are his mother, Evelyn Williams
of Patriot; one son, Daniel Williams Jr. of Plainfield, Ind.;
four daughters, Debbie Dixon of Indianapolis, Sheila Williams
of Proctorville, Danise Davies of Gallipolis, and Amy Danelle
Williams of Point Pleasant; two brothers, Jack Williams and Justin
Williams, both of Gallipolis; and one sister, Betty Baker of Patriot.
Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday at First Church of God, Point Pleasant;
burial in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, Point Pleasant. Friends may

POINT PLEASANT - William Louis "Willie" Wilson Sr.,
72, of Point Pleasant died May 30, 2000, in Pleasant Valley Hospital.
He was a retired production superintendent from Stauffer Chemical,
Gallipolis Ferry, a member of Bellemead United Methodist Church,
Point Pleasant, and a Sunday school teacher. He was an Army veteran
of World War II and a graduate of Point Pleasant High School.
Surviving: wife, Joanne Rainey Wilson; son, William L. Jr. of
Gulfport, Fla.; daughter, Teresa L. Atkinson of Gallipolis, Ohio;
sister, Nell Lazenby of Beckley; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point
Pleasant, with the Rev. Carroll L. McCauley officiating. Burial
will be in Suncrest Cemetery, Point Pleasant. Friends may call

HUNTINGTON - William Theodore Winter Jr., 73, of Huntington, formerly
of Point Pleasant, died July 3, 2000, in St. Mary's Hospital,
Huntington.
He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum, Ravenswood, and was a two-term
Point Pleasant city councilman. He was a Navy veteran of World
War II and a Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War. He was a member
of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Point Pleasant, and attended
Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, Huntington.
Surviving: wife, Wynona Adkins Winter; son, William T. III of
Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Patricia L. Patterson of Point Pleasant;
stepson, David A. Crawford of Las Vegas; stepdaughter, Sherye
Philips of Manchester, N.H.; brothers, Francis E. of Phoenix,
Robert, Regis and John, all of Pittsburgh, Thomas J. of Littleton,
Colo.; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; five stepgreat-grandchildren.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point
Pleasant, with the Rev. Bob Hale officiating.

POINT PLEASANT - Wilma Odella Wood, 72, of Point Pleasant died
Nov. 4, 2000, in Pleasant Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation,
Point Pleasant.
She was a bookkeeper for Tiny's Supermarket with 28 years' service,
and with NaPa Store, Point Pleasant. She was a graduate of Point
Pleasant High School and a member of First Church of the Nazarene,
Point Pleasant, where she was a Sunday school teacher, treasurer
and past president of Nazarene World Missions Society. She was
a former member of Pleasant Valley Hospital Auxiliary and Gideons
Auxiliary.
Surviving: husband, Dale Wood; stepdaughter, Betty Lou Roach of
Point Pleasant; sisters, Ruth L. Holland of Gallipolis Ferry,
Dorothy M. Rardin of Millwood; brother, the Rev. John D. Sallaz
of Point Pleasant; half sister, Marguerite Cook of Brownsville,
Texas; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of the Nazarene
with the Rev. John D. Sallaz and the Rev. Charles Marker officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery, Letart. Friends may call

was an emergency medical technician, employed by the Mason County

Springer of Gallipolis; father and stepmother, Dallas Eugene and
Edith Woyan of Southside; three brothers, Ronald Springer and

of Southside; and three sisters, Edna Milstead of Gallipolis,
Lisa Mount of Bidwell, Ohio, and Devan Woyan of Southside. Fuenral

24, 2000, at home.
He was a member of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Point Pleasant,
the Valley Squad and Mount Flower Volunteer Fire Department. He
was former chief of the Valley Fire Department and an EMT for
Mason County.
Surviving: stepfather and mother, Ronald and Rosella Springer
of Gallipolis, Ohio; father and stepmother, Dallas Eugene and
Edith Woyan of Southside; maternal grandmother, Edna Wray of Gallipolis

He was a native of Huntington, W.Va., a veteran of the Navy and

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Beale Chapel Cemetery,
