RILEY ARNETT - is farming and raising stock on his farm of 335 acres in Mannington district, where he has been located since 1865. He has always been a resident in what is now Marion county, and was here born, in what is now Paw Paw district, January 10, 1840. Near Fairview, in Monongalia county, April 3, 1866, he was united in marriage with Luvinna Lough, who was born in Marion county, January 17, 1849. Their children are three: Frances Dana, born September 21, 1867; Homer Howard, October 10. 1870; Samuel Ross, October 12, 1876. During the war of the States, Riley Arnett was a soldier in Company B, 6th West Virginia Infantry; his brother Eber served in the same company, and his brother Franklin was in the same regiment, Company A. Elbert M., another brother, was a member of the 17th Virginia Infantry. William Arnett, father of Riley, was born May 6, 1798, a son of John Arnett, who came to this State from Cumberland valley, and settled in this locality in 1810. William Arnett married Eleanor Meredeth, who was born in 1807, and died March 20, 1869, and his death occurred three years later, on the 29th of June, 1872. Luvinna, wife of Riley Arnett, is a daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Hawkins) Lough, who are now living in Monongalia county. Her mother was a daughter of Hon. Aaron and Catherine (Dicken) Hawkins. He represented Marion county in the senate. Riley Arnett receives his mail at the office at Logansport, Marion county, West Virginia.
