Looking for Catherine Fletcher Eskew's maiden name, first name of her 1st husband Fletcher, they had at least two children, Sarah Frances Fletcher, born 1825 and a son. Catherine married 2nd, Hendley Eskew 1853 in Harrison Co., VA/WV.. Catherine died in 1890. Any help appreciated.

Looking for information on Nelson Robinson and Catherine Lance, married Jan. 28, 1833 Lewis Co., WV.. In 1840 census show 2 children. 1860 Upshur Co., WV census shows Nelson & Catherine, children, ;George age 16, Rachel age 14.  Son Elam age 19 married with wife Almyra age 19 in their home. Another son, Marshall age 23 with wife Sarah age 19, daughter Catherine age 1. Can't find George and Cecelia married.  Rachel married Jesse Bumgardner and were in the 1870 & 1880 Upshur Co., WV. census, but then disappeared. No death records for either Nelson or Catherine. Catherine, d/o George & Mary Woolford Lance. Many of the Lance family ended up in Barbour Co., WV. Any help would be appreciated.

I am searching for information about my CLARKSON family. My grandfather Ferman Mason CLARKSON was born in Preston Co., but his family had come from Upshur, I think. His gfather and gmother are Benjamin, born in Essex Co. 1791 married Fanny Gaines (or maybe Games)in 1820. Some of this family went to Fluanna Co. and William Johnson, my ancestor and Benjamin Franklin and Robert all served in the militia. Benjamin, married to Mary Ann BARTLETT, and Robert died in the Civil War after they were captured at Rock Cave. Benjamin's family remained at Rock Cave location . There was a sister Sarah CLARKSON married to FILDER. Another brother Joseph Albert b. 1840 married Mary Frances GAWTHROP in 1872 lived at Etam and had 13 children. I don't know if the parents Benjamin and Fanny came to WV. Anything I could learn about the CLARKSON would be appreciated and I will gladly share. Mary CLARKSON BUCHHOLZ in SD

I am looking for information on the Daniel FARNSWORTH family. They arrived in Buckhannon, Upshur Co., WV on 8 July 1821. His wife was Rachel STOUT who was the daughter of Moses and Abigail (HART) STOUT. Their children were James Stout b.22 Nov 1793, Nathaniel, Thomas  b. 1796 d. 1870 ( my 4th ggrandfather), John and Isaac. I am interested in finding records or information about Thomas who married Catherine SIMON, the daughter of Lenord Simon and Christina WEATHERHOLT. Their daughter Susan Pamelia FARNSWORTH b.10 Oct 1830 d. July 1918 married Zephaniah BOSWELL b.1822. Their son Francis Marion BOSWELL was born in Buckhannon 18 Aug 1853 eleven months before his father died in Wheeling, Ohio Co., WV. I believe Zephaniah BOSWELL is buried in Buckhannon. Susan Pamelia married Jacob RULE OR RUHLE sometime after July 1854. They later moved on to Missouri. I have found no evidence of these families in Buckhannon or Upshur Co. Any help would be most appreciated.

I am a descendant of Goodman, William Loomis, and Ephriam "Ray" Simons. Ray was my grandfather. He was born 7 Sept. 1886 and died 20 Sept 1954. He lived in the Abbott community and was married to Georgia Russell Simons. I have no information other than on my grandfather and would like to contact someone that might have other info.

Am searching for the only cousin I think I have. Her name is/was BYLO MCAVOY (also possibly known as "Vicky" and she lived with my family in Mt. Hope until she was around 10 years old (about 1955-57) when she reportedly went to French Creek to live with her aunt and uncle, the POLINGS. Rumor has it she may be living in Hagerstown now.

JACOB CONRAD SMITH, probably the son of JOSHUA SMITH, served with Company "C", 133rd Regiment , WV State Militia and died at ANDERSONVILLE PRISON CAMP on 16 March 1864 during the Civil War.
