Compiled by Linda Cunningham Fluharty.
JOHNNY B. OWENS, born about 1922, probably in Tyler County, was the son of Lemuel Owens and Lenora Smith, married in Tyler County 2 September 1897. Lenora was born in Pleasants County, the daughter of Squire Smith. Lemuel Owens died in Tyler County 3 October 1923. Lenora married William Burch in Tyler County 21 March 1925; both were widowed. They are found in the 1930 and 1940 census records.
Johnny must have spent time in Pleasants County, perhaps worked there or spent time with his Smith relatives. He is identified in the West Virginia Memory Project as affiliated with Pleasants County, rather than Tyler County where he was probably born and raised.
