OBITUARY: October 4, 1918 - INGLE S. SMITH - The sad message conveying to his parents Mr. and Mrs. S. B. Smith of First Street, the official notice of the death of their son, Sgt. Ingle S. Smith, was received here on Monday evening at 9:30. Engle was a local favorite and his death cast a gloom over the city. His death was due to pneumonia and occurred in a hospital in France, Oct. 4. - He was born at Beallsville, Ohio, Feb. 15, 1895 and was therefore 23 years, 7 months and 19 days old. His parents moved to this city in 1908. After completing the course at St. Marys high school he went to Bartlesville, Okla and entered the mechanical department of a garage. - At the declaration of war he came back home and enlisted at Parkersburg on June 4, 1917. - He worked in the motor truck division of several camps. He left for France July 9 of the present year and was at the time of his death attached to the air service. He is survived by his parents, two sisters, Mr. W. G.
