Pearl L. Offenberger
WHIPPLE — Pearl Loretta Offenberger, 75, of Offenberger Road, Whipple, died at 9:35 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10, 2007) at Selby General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 12, 1932, in Lowell to Isaac Wilson and Phoebe Lauer Broome. She was a graduate of Salem-Liberty High School. She had been employed as a cook at the Washington County Jail for about four years. Later, she worked and retired from Selby General Hospital. She and her husband had operated Offenberger Water Hauling for many years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Catholic Woman’s Club and the Friends of Selby. Pearl enjoyed time spent with family, playing cards and watching hummingbirds in her flower gardens.
She is survived by four sons, Dale Offenberger (Ada), Virgil Offenberger (Marlene) and Earl Offenberger, all of Whipple, and Tony Offenberger (Sue) of Marietta; two daughters, Patricia Robinson (Raymond, Jr.) of Whipple and Teresa Offenberger of Galloway; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dean Broome (Betty) and Harold Broome (Bonnie), both of Lowell; and three sisters, Pauline Goodwill of Kent, Virginia Farmer (John) of Minerva and Carollyn Boley (Downer) of St. Marys, W.Va.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Leo Offenberger, on July 8, 1997, they had been married on June 26, 1952; a daughter, Becky Marie Offenberger; and a brother, Eugene Broome.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday (Nov. 15, 2007) at St. Mary Catholic Church. Visitation will be at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. There will be a vigil service at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in New St. Mary’s Cemetery.

BONNIE M. OLDFIELD
Bonnie M. Oldfield, 78, of St. Marys, died Sunday afternoon in St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Pleasants County to the late Thomas and Ida Mott Kidder. She was a member of the George Street Church of Christ and the Ritchie County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her husband, Denzil Oldfield; two sons, Gordon Huber of Petersbuurg, Va., and John Boley of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Betty Fields of Las Vegas, Nev., Wilda Phillips of Louisville, Ky., Bethel Cochran of New Matamoras, and Bonnie Owens of Salem; two sisters, Hilda Matheny of St. Marys and Leone Miller of Zanesville, Ohio; one brother, Charles Kidder of St. Marys; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the George Street Church of Christ with Evangelist William Butterfield officiating. Burial was in Pike Cemetery.

Dale E. Oldfield Sr., 78, of St. Marys, died Oct. 16, 2001, at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 17, 1923, in St. Marys, son of the late John and Sarah Jane Hackathorn Oldfield. He was a 1943 graduate of St. Marys High School and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Ormet Corporation; was a member of the Steelworkers Union; and a member of the George Street Church of Christ. His hobbies included woodworking and furniture finishing.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara Jeannine Brown Oldfield; three sons, Dale E. ‘Doug’ Oldfield Jr. and his wife, Kim of New Matamoras, Tim Oldfield and his wife, Margie of Belmont, and Dirk Oldfield of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Briana, Justin, Robert, Timothy, Derek, Kelsey and Nikki; one sister, Katherine Paynter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Gregory K. Oldfield; two sisters, Nell Barnes and Thelma Michael; and five brothers, Denzil Oldfield, ‘Pete’ Oldfield, Thaddeus Oldfield, Robert Oldfield and John Oldfield.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home of St. Marys, with Evangelist Arnold Huyghebaert and Pastor Ron Weber officiating. Burial will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery with military graveside services conducted by American Legion Post 79; VFW Post 222; and AMVETS Post 40. Calling hours are from 4-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Katherine E. Boyles Oldfield, 52, died Feb. 16, 2009, at her home in Frostproof, Fla.
She was born Oct. 17, 1956, in Parkersburg, a daughter of E. E. "Ellis" and Maxine Boyles of Frostproof, Fla., formerly of St. Marys. She was a 1974 graduate of St. Marys High School and lived the past nine years in Florida. She worked at Wal-mart at Lake Wales.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Bryon Oldfield and Krystal Stacy of Destin, Fla.; two brothers, Kenny (Annette) Boyles of Point Pleasant and Patrick (Peggy) Boyles of St. Marys; nephews, Keith Boyles of Morgantown, Doug Boyles of Oak Hill and Charlie Snider of Brooksville, Fla.; nieces, Kristin Boley of St. Marys and Lana Snider Evans of Watertown, Ohio; and a special uncle, David W. Wilson of St. Marys.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, E. G. and Margret Boyles and A.C. and Gaye Wilson; and a nephew, Kevin Boyles.
A memorial service was held Feb. 19 at the Camp Inn Resort in Frostproof.. A local memorial service will be held at a later date for West Virginia family and friends.

Victoria Nicole "Nikki" Bills-Oldfield
Victoria Nicole "Nikki" Bills-Oldfield, 22, of St. Marys, died April 3, 2008 at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.
She was born Sept. 22, 1985 in Parkersburg, a daughter of Dirk A. Oldfield and Penny Sue Noland, both of St. Marys. She was a 2004 graduate of St. Marys High School, where she had been active in cheerleading, softball and track. She was attending WVU at Parkersburg and was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church. Nikki enjoyed health and fitness, loved good food, movies and she loved her dog, Pete. She also loved to socialize.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by one brother, Derek Oldfield of St. Marys; two sisters, Kelsey Oldfield and Ali Noland, both of St. Marys; maternal grandmother and step grandfather, Charlotte and Burl Smith of St. Marys; maternal grandfather, Gale Prim of Debois, Pa.; paternal grandmother, Jeannine Oldfield of St. Marys; step mother, Tina Oldfield of St. Marys; two step brothers, Donald Butcher and Benji Butcher, both of St. Marys; special friend, Brian Bailey of St. Marys; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Dale Oldfield.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys. Interment will be in the St. Marys IOOF Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, 3 to 9 p.m. Monday and from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Bernard A. "Red" Oliver, 63, of St. Marys, died Jan. 8, 2001.
Survivors include five sons, Ricky of St. Marys, Larry of Michigan, R. Douglas of Georgia, Bernard of Marietta and James; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Ruttencutter-Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, Pastor Chuck Rogers officiating. Burial in the Cloverdale Cemetery, Pleasants County. Visitation is 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today and 9-11 a.m. Thursday.

Wilma Geraldine Oliver, 87 of Newell, W.Va., passed away at City Hospital East Liverpool, Ohio on Thursday, March 31, 2005 after a long illness.
She was born in St. Marys on January 28, 1918, a daughter of the late John Wesley Oliver and Mary Canleda Horner Oliver.
Ms. Oliver retired from American Paper Products in Boardman, Ohio after 30 years of service. She was a member of the St. Clair Avenue Church of Christ in East Liverpool, Ohio.
Surviving are; three sisters, Glenda Wanalee Pelley, Edna Pauline Morris of Newell and Mrs. Joseph (Peryl) Payne of East Liverpool; several nieces and nephews, Sharon Campbell of Newell, JoAnna Morris of East Liverpool, Marcia Woodyard of Salem, Ohio, Christy Claypool of Warner Robins, Ga., Linda Rassy of East Liverpool, Carol Durham of New Wilmington, Pa., Larry Gadd of Newell and John Pelley of Falls Church, Va.
A brother, William Gale Oliver preceded her in death.
Services were at the Amer Funeral Chapel in Chester, W.Va., with Evangelist Will Montgomery, pastor of her church, officiating. Burial followed at Shadow Lawn Memory Gardens in Newell.

Julia R. Oliverio
Julia Rose Barber Oliverio, 74, of Morgantown, W.Va., passed away surrounded by all of her family and many friends at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, at Monongalia General Hospital.
Julia was born July 28, 1933, in Morgantown, a daughter of the late Ross and Mary Maluso Barber.
Julia was raised in Morgantown, was a 1951 graduate of Morgantown High School and attended W.Va. Business College and West Virginia University. She worked in the family business, the Gold & Blue Restaurant, at S.M. Whitesides, and with Dr. Cozad and Dr. Fred Wilson as a dental assistant. She worked as a deputy in the Monongalia County Clerk’s Office and for 24 years as a Deputy Assessor in the Monongalia County Assessor’s office.
Julia’s outstanding community service and involvement included Mountaineer Woman’s Club, Democratic Women’s Association, Red Hat Society, WVU Marching Band, St. Mary’s Catholic Church and many others.
From 1967 to the present, Julia was very involved with the American Heart Association. With the help of the Mountaineer Woman’s Club, she conducted more than 25 annual Heart Balls.
Julia was named 2006 "West Virginia Mother of the Year," 2006 W.Va. Department of Health and Human Services "Mountaineer Spirit Woman of the Year." She was awarded "Distinguished West Virginian" by Governor Joseph Manchin.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Michael A. Oliverio; three sons and spouses, Joseph and Paula Oliverio of Belmont, W.Va., Michael and Melissa Oliverio, Frank and Amy Oliverio, all of Morgantown; one daughter and spouse, Mary and Chris Brown of Morgantown; six grandchildren, Alyssa Oliverio, Christina and Maria Brown, Michael and Maggie Oliverio and Julia Rose Oliverio; two brothers and spouse, Frank and Helen Barber of Palm Coast, Fla., and Ross "Bob" Barber of Westover; one sister and spouse, Teresa and John Gabriele of Youngstown, Ohio; Frank and Flora Oliverio of Columbus, Ohio, and John and Barbara Oliverio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Isabella Barber Massullo.
Friends and family will be received from 1-9 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Peace Hall in Star City, and from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Star City. A Prayer Vigil will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Peace Hall. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father John V. DiBacco and the Rev. Father John Rice as co-celebrants. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Peace Garden Mausoleum.

Jo Ann Olson, 73, of Pike, W.Va., died July 26, 2004, at her residence.
She fought a 10 year battle with Parkinson's disease, before going to be with her Lord.
She was born Feb. 22, 1931, in Pike, the daughter of the late Fred and Arrahwanna Wilcox Pifer.
Jo Ann was a homemaker and had worked at Phillip's Pharmacy, St. Marys, for many years. She was very involved in community work and loved helping people. She was a member of Ellenboro Chapter 20 Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Ritchie County Republican Committee and an officer of Mountaineer Bulk Services, Ellenboro. She had been the oldest living member of Pike Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Olson; one daughter and son-in-law, Naresa Jan and Richard L. Cunningham of Sistersville; one sister, Sherrie Channel and husband, Lester, of Grantsville; one grandson, Michael Delancey and wife, Karen, of Fairmont; one stepgrandson, Todd Cunningham and wife, Teresa, of Williamstown; nieces and nephews, Wendy and Kevin Hess of Ripley and Fred and Julie Channel of New Martinsville; special friends, Jennifer Johnson, Lanette Davis and Betty Locke; and her cats, Victoria, Benjamin and Jonathan.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Evangelist Cecil Dotson officiating. Burial will follow in the Pike Church of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

HARRISVILLE - Aleen G. Sigler O'Neal, 88, of Harrisville died March 17, 2004, at Pine View Continuous Care Facility, Harrisville.
She was born June 23, 1915, in Harrisville, a daughter of the late John Howard and Theodora Wells Gribble.
Mrs. O'Neal had been a legal secretary for the law firm of Harry Moats in Harrisville, a 50-year member of the St. Luke's United Methodist Church, the Business Professional Woman's Club and the Woman Club, all of Harrisville. She was also a Minority Clerk for the Senate in 1958.
Aleen is survived by two stepsons, Joe H. Sigler of Tallahassee, Fla., and Robert M. Sigler of Albright, W.Va.; one stepdaughter, Linda McCartney of Sun City, S.C.; four nieces, Helen Richards of Harrisville, Maggie Wilson of St. Marys, Virginia Bundy of Napa Valley, Calif., and Ann Snider Hogsett of Shaker Heights, Ohio; two nephews, Clyde Keith of Petroleum and Steven Nutter of Waynesville, Mo.; nine stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreat-grandchildren, great-nieces and nephews.

Donald R. O'Neal
Donald R. O'Neal, 67, of Newport, Ohio, died Friday, June 24, 2005, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born Dec. 8, 1937, in Newport, a son of the late Fred and Anna Carpenter O'Neal. He attended the Beach Grove and Newport United Methodist churches. He was retired from DuPont after 34 years, where he worked as a mechanic. He was a member of the Newport Athletic Association, a member of the Missing Squares Square Dancing Club in St. Marys and a member of the Newport Volunteer Fire Department. He was a 1955 graduate of Newport High School. He enjoyed his house in Florida, playing shuffleboard and traveling.
He is survived by two sons, Jeff O'Neal of Belmont and Randall O'Neal and his wife, Robin, of Newport; seven grandchildren, Nicole Dornan of Belmont, Jarod O'Neal of New Matamoras, Amber, Lindsey and Dylan O'Neal, all of Newport, and Justin, Sara and Travis O'Neal of Belmont; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Vaughn O'Neal, of Marietta and Larry O'Neal of Holland, Texas; three sisters, Alyse Barth of Chesterland, Ohio, Faye Lee and Kaye Brockmeir of Reno, Ohio; and his angel companion of six years, Marcella Molden of Newport.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Brown O'Neal; three brothers, Fred, Eric and Gilbert O'Neal; and one sister, Melba Keyhoe.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ingram Funeral Home, St. Marys, with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport. Calling hours will be 2-9 p.m. Monday and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Paul Gene Osenbaugh, 77, of Parkersburg died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Blackwell, Okla., a son of the late Hugh A. and Hattie L. (Swiger) Osenbaugh. He was an airplane mechanic and worked for Lockheed Martin. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a 32nd Degree Mason.
He is survived by his sister, Nellie Benear of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews, including Benita Dillon of Belmont, who helped take care of him; and two daughters, Cathy and Debbie.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.

Wm. J. Outward, a pioneer resident of the county, passed away at his home on Henry Camp, at an early hour Tuesday morning, in the 80th year of his age.
The deceased had been a member of St. Marys Lodge, No. 41, A. F. & A. M. for more than 33 years, and was laid to rest with Masonic ceremonies.
The funeral and burial rites occurred on Wednesday afternoon, and were largely attended.
The deceased is survived by a wife and many other relatives who have the sympathy of a host of friends in their bereavement.

Hunter W. Owens of Waverly passed away Oct. 27, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 9, 2002, in Parkersburg, the son of Franklin W. Owens Jr. and Tonya H. Steele Owens of Waverly.
Hunter is survived by his parents; one sister, KayLee Owens; maternal grandmother, Sandra Steele of Waverly; paternal grandparents, Franklin and Annie Owens Sr. of Pennsboro; his uncles and aunts, Harry Steele Jr. of Waverly, Brian Owens of Pennsboro, Joe and Annie Shaffer of Pennsboro and Jimmy and Cindy Moore of Barlow, Ohio; cousins, Jay and Kyle Moore of Barlow, Brittany, J.D. and Connor Shaffer of Pennsboro, and Brandy and Kandy Steele of Vienna; and numerous other relatives.

Nellie Hefner Owens
Nellie Hefner Owens, 83, went to be with the Lord Aug. 7, 2009, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital. Her positive attitude and sweet spirit was an inspiration to all who met her.
She was born Nov. 2, 1925, in Putnam County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Claude Hefner and Mamie Bennett Hefner. Nellie was a 1943 graduate of Doddridge County High School and worked on B-29 bombers in Akron, Ohio, during World War II. A loving mother and homemaker, she was trained in the art of leather craft, and served as the chairperson of Santa's Workshop in St. Marys for many years.
She is held in loving memory by her children, David Owens and his wife, Verna, of St. Marys, Peggy Riddle and her husband, Ron, of Parkersburg, Nancy Hardman of Lantana, Fla., and Betty Haasze and her husband, Vince, of Lantana, Fla.; four grandchildren, Veronica Lowther of Grantsville, Shane Murphy of Lantana, Fla., Jessica Owens Wagstaff of St. Marys and John Murphy of Parkersburg; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one brother, Claude Hefner Jr. and wife, Juanita, of Cleveland, Ohio; three sisters, Opel Gregg of Smyrna, Tenn., Ruth Moffatt and husband, Jack, of Columbus, Ind., and Juanita Thomas and husband, Jack, of Pennsboro; and many special friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stepson, James Rayburn Owens Jr.; and a brother, William Hefner.

Howard D. "Bud" Owings
Howard David "Bud" Owings, 73, of Pennsboro, W.Va., Beech Grove Community, peacefully departed this life at the family residence on Thursday, April 16, 2009.
Bud was born on Aug. 19, 1935, at Baltimore, Md., the son of the late William B. and Mary P. Logue Owings. He had been an auto mechanic and shop foreman for Pontiac in Lutherville, Md., and was retired after 20 years of service teaching auto mechanics at the former Pleasants, Ritchie, Tyler Vocational Center at St. Marys, W.Va. He was a member of the Pennsboro United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martha A. "Marty" Hall Owings; sons, David Owings (Ann) of Tumon, Guam, Timothy Owings and Mark Owings, both of Pennsboro, and Peter Owings (Lucia) of New York City, N.Y.; and grandchildren, Erika Owings (Dustin) of Pennsboro, Amber Owings of Catonsville, Md., and Alexander Owings of Cottageville, S.C.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 5 p.m. Monday from the Pennsboro United Methodist Church, Pennsboro, with the Rev. Steven Lightner officiating.
