Ross Monte Wiley
Ross Monte Wiley, b. Fairview, near Proctor, Marshall Co., WV, 12 Nov, 1890, d. Akron, OH, 20 July, 1965. When he was twenty-one (Nov 7, 1911), Ross went to Wheeling and joined the Marines. Served in Cuba, Panama, contracted tuberculosis and malaria, discharged in early 1915. May, 1918, joined the U. S. Army ("Expeditionary Forces"), (not telling them of his medical discharge from the Marines). Served with Co. E. 54th Inf., in France, in Argonne and Belieu Wood, discharged Camp Sherman, Ohio - 23 May 1919.
