Service Record: At age 22, joined for duty on July 6, 1861 at Camp Hewes, near Clarksburg; mustered in July 10, 1861 at Camp Hewes. “On furlough, sick from August 12, 1861, time extended on surgeon’s certificate of disability.” “Died at Rosby’s Rock, May 22, 1862 of Consumption.” His furlough was extended; he was not discharged.

In 1850, he was 11 years old, born in Pa., and lived in Marshall County with his probable parents, Robert and Rachel (Sharp) Williamson, and numerous siblings.
