Isabella...1-F...VAService Record: Enrolled Jan. 1, 1864 at Scottsboro, Ala.; mustered in Jan. 26, 1864 at Scottsboro, Ala. “Died of starvation July 21, 1864 at Andersonville, Ga., while a Prisoner of War.” He is buried at Andersonville National Cemetery, Andersonville, Ga.
His widow received a pension, Certificate #113536. She states in her application, filed in Unionville, Iowa, that she, Sarah Jewell, married George Trussell on Aug. 24, 1845 in Morgan Twp., Greene County, Pa.
The 1850 census of Marshall County names George Trussell, 34, born Pa.; Sarah, 23, born Ohio; Margaret, 3, born Va., and Isabella, 1, born Va.
In 1860, they were residents of Appanoose, Union County, Iowa. George, 45, and Sarah, 35, were the parents of Margaret, 12; Isabella, 10; John, 9; Sarah, 8; Lydia, 6; Martha, 4; Andrew, 2; Adda T., 6 mos. The last four were born in Iowa. Another son, George W., was born in 1864. On Oct. 13, 1875, the widow married John Vining. When she was again widowed, she applied for restoration of her pension, at which time she lived in Lancaster, Missouri. It was reinstated in 1901 and she died in 1902.
