Service Record: At age 18, joined for duty & enrolled at Antioch, Ohio on July 25, 1863 to serve 6 months; mustered in Aug. 29, 1863 at Parkersburg. “Engineer, born in Moundsville, W.Va.” “Died of disease Sept. 29, 1863 in US General Hospital, Parkersburg, W.Va.”

James Rulong, probably his brother, received his belongings.

Alexander was the son of Richard and Eleanor Rulong, residents of Marshall County in the 1850 census.

By 1860, the father was deceased, and Alexander P., 15, and sister, Emily, 22, were living with their mother in the 1860 Marshall County census.

Alexander is buried at Roberts Ridge-Greenview Cemetery, Marshall County. His mother received Pension Certificate #50194.
