Service Record: At age 29, joined for duty & enrolled July 19, 1861 at Camp Hewes near Clarksburg; mustered in there on July 29, 1861. “Taken prisoner near Covington, Va. Dec. 19, 1863.” “Died Aug. 8, 1864 at Andersonville, Ga.” Buried at Andersonville National Cemetery.

W.Va. Adj. Gen. record: “Born Ohio County, W.Va.”

In the 1850 census of Marshall County, Louis/Lewis Pugh was employed by Lawrence Logston.

In 1860, age 29, still in Marshall County, he was married to Mary A. (Davis), born in Pa., and had a daughter, Angeline. A son, Adam Robert, was born in 1861; he died in a car accident on Wetzel St., Ohio County, in 1891.

The widow, Mary A. Peugh widow of Lewis Peugh, received a pension, Certificate #51456. She later married Moses B. Price, a 1st Sergt. in the same company.
