According to Headstones Provided for Deceased Union Civil War Veterans, 1861-1904, a tombstone was ordered for this soldier’s grave at McMechen Cemetery on June 10, 1903. He was the son of Stephen and Lydia (Hammond) Morris, found in the 1860 census records of Marshall County. Ebenezer’s father, Stephen, was probably the brother of Samuel Morris, father of Daniel Morris, who also died while in service with this company. Both fathers were born in Delaware.
