Despite age, which may have been overstated, and birthplace conflicts, there was a Francis Moore, 12, born in Maryland, in the 1860 census of Marshall County (Sand Hill) living in the home of Abram and Eliza (Baird) Marsh. Also in the Marsh home was their son, William Marsh, 22, and a house servant. George Marsh, another son of Abram and Eliza Marsh, served - and died - in Company “I” 15 W.Va. Infantry. - In any case, Francis/Franklin Moore enlisted at Sand Hill and died during the war.
