The mother died of cancer at Fish Creek, Marshall County, on Nov. 7, 1858, according to her death record.

Maxwell Gray married Elizabeth Roberts at Kennedy’s School house, Gilmore Twp., Greene County, Pa. in April 1860. In the 1860 census, they were found living in Greene County and had an infant, Sarah, in the home. If she was their baby, she must have died. Elizabeth Gray received a government pension, Certificate #92117. She died on Aug. 4, 1902.
