He was buried on Nov. 21, 1865 at Union Cemetery, West Market St., Steubenville, Ohio.
A lengthy “In Memorian” was published in the Wheeling Intelligencer on Dec. 4, 1865, following a meeting of the members of Company H 195th Ohio Infantry at Alexandria, Va. on Nov. 26, 1865. No circumstances of his death were mentioned.
Mother, “Ann Bynon” applied for a government pension in 1879 and received Certificate #193.292.
Edward, born in Ohio County, according to family histories, was the son of David and Ann (Morgan) Bynon, both born in Wales, and residents of Ohio County in 1850. Children in 1850 were Mary Ann and William, both born in Pa., and Charlotte, Edward and Virginia, born in Va. Charlotte and (Hollis) Virginia died in Marshall County in 1854.
In 1860, the family lived in Marshall County, specifically in Benwood, and Edward and brother, William, were employed as Nailers at the mill. - By 1870, the Bynon family was residing in Alliance, Stark County, Ohio.
