• Ansell, William, Frontier Forts of the Potomac Basin.

• Bittinger, Emmert, Allegheny Passage, Churches and Families of West Marva District 1752-1990. Contains several chapters giving the history and some genealogical data on dozens of pioneer South Branch Families. Copies of these books are located in the Moorefield, Romney, and Petersburg public libraries.

• Boyce, Debbie, Capon Notes 263 pages, indexed. Debbie Boyce, editor and compiler of the Capon Notes, is a lifelong resident of Hampshire County, W. Va., and has lived in Yellow Spring since 1970. Long intrigued with Yellow Spring area history, she wishes to share and promote the rich heritage of the Capon Valley that has been lost through time in this noteworthy record of articles. • Goodspeed Brothers, Publishing, A Reminiscent History of Northern West Virginia
  Not sure why this is called Northern West Va. Most of it covers the entire state. Maybe the bios are just for the northern part. Use the DMK Heritage website to preview the Table of Contents and Index for the book. The introduction discusses sources, how the surname developed and the descendant numbering system.
