Glen L. Hickman Glen L. Hickman, 74, of route 2, Pennsboro, Deep Valley Community, WV, died Sunday morning in the Americare-Salem Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after an extended illness. He was born in Central Station in Doddridge County, WV, a son of the late Silas T. and Zelphia Davis Hickman. He had retired in 1972 after 22 years with the Union Carbide Corp. in Ashtabula, Ohio. He also was a farmer and member of Arnolds Creek Christian Church, Deep Valley. He is survived by his wife, Virginia N. Haught Hickman, one daughter, Mrs. Merle (Eva Mae) Gill of Ashtabula, Ohio, one sister, Beulah Moore of Akron, Ohio, two brothers, Arthur Hickman of Chardon, Ohio, and Frances C. Hickman of Berea, WV, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Spurgeon Funeral Home in West Union, WV, with the Rev, Lemoyne Horner officiating. Burial was in the Wilbur Cemetery, Tyler County, WV. Friends called at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Monday and until services Tuesday. (September 1987)
