Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Wilbur Chapel Church at 
West Union for Mrs. Ruth Griffin, 63, of Deep Valley Community, Rt. 1, 
greenwood, who died Saturday night  in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, 
Parkersburg.

The retired school teacher was born in Tyler County, a daughter of the late 
George and Lummie Victoria Davis Britton.  She had been a life member of 
the Fairview United Methodist Church at Wilbur, and had taught for 38 years 
in grade schools for Tyler and Doddridge counties.

Surviving are her husband, Delbert (Dick) Griffin; three sisters, Mrs. Opal 
B. Balsley, Lancaster, OH, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Meyer, Wilbur, WV, and Mrs. 
J.N. (Kathleen) Meirop of Elyria, OH; one brother, George W. Griffin, Jr., 
St. Marys, and several nieces and nephews.

Evangelist John Tenny officiated at the services.  Burial was in the 
Masonic Memorial Park Cemetery at West Union.
